Navigating around the fluff talk, the real goal of the trade was to dump salary. I think that Gordon Hayward is fully justified to be unhappy about his Oklahoma City experience with how it played out (they didn't use his skillsets effectively and probably costed him a ton of money in upcoming free agency), but his production was tangential to the broader goal of the trade.

I got no problem with Hayward's wife defending her husband even if she is wrong. Big whatever there for me. But Presti seems a little disingenuous to me. Bottom line, he didn't want to invest future flexibility in this year's team and did this trade instead to create flexibility while pretending he was investing in it. I actually don't hate the patience but it wasn't something to me that had a shot of working for this year.

His days of being a borderline star are way behind him, but it's hard to imagine that Hayward can't be used as a rotation player at least.

Gonna be a tough offseason for Hayward if he can’t come to grips with the caliber of player he is and the role he’s in for at this stage of his career.

I think Sam is being respectful by pretending like Hayward was anything other than a cap move

Well, it's gotta hurt that you make trades that basically eliminate your team. If Hayward said he didn't think it would be a good fit before making it happen, you should have just traded for his contract and waived him since all you wanted was the cap room. He obviously wasn't good in the locker room either.

None of that explains why GH was afraid to shoot the ball in the playoffs.

Doris expired 5 years ago. Right now she's just expired milk material.
In her prime I agree though she was hot!
Sexism.

It seems that he is anti 3&D/floor spacer and wants to be the same on ball player he has always been. The Warriors could use him. Hayward is their sort of player like Igoudala and Livingston.

Was he afraid, or was he protesting?

Surprised by the shade he’s throwing at a known classy player. It was a low risk move i thought? His wife is known to be a little outspoken, but I can’t say I blame her for defending her husband here. He’s too nice to do it himself.
