That's a fat bag for a 34-year-old who's had consistent injury issues.

Obviously if you win a title any move is good, or if it's the cost of keeping Embiid then fair enough. But while I'd expect them to be significantly better this season that contract is going to be ugly in years 3 and 4.

What are you gonna do? Like yeah in a vacuum those last 2 years look pretty gross, but Embiid’s window is probably really only a couple years long before his body breaks down so you might as well go for it. This makes them one of the favorites to win the championship and if George or Embiid misses a short time in the playoffs one might be able to cover for the other for a series or two.

Was only a matter of time clearly the most obvious outcome
