So the Kings were pursuing Ingram and now it appears the will sign DeRozan instead. Does New Orleans have another team on the hook or will they go into the season with Ingram on the roster and lose him for nothing.
He will be a top free agent for cap teams next year.

I think it has very little to do with New Orleans and everything to do with Ingram and the contract he’s demanding.
Teams are spooked by that series vs OKC. Personally I think it’s a bit unfair as he had just returned from injury, Zion was out, and Dort is probably the worst matchup for BI. But being cynical, teams might be waking up to the fact that Ingram’s iso ball mid range style and inability to really fit into team concepts isn’t worth $50 million a year. He’s a good player but he doesn’t bring as much to the table as it seems.

Ingram is an empty stats guy thats never contributed to winning. And he wants $50 mill per like hes Lebron. Thats an easy pass for any team.

I thought i read somewhere that Portland could be a sleeper team for Ingram. Grant would be a nice pickup for New Orleans. Better defensively than Ingram but still solid offensively.

I think when people start doing their homework on Ingram, they come to find they like him alot less than they initially thought.

Ingram is big fllght risk since he will be a UFA next season. Maybe the offers were disapointing.

bingo. I think they need to get this done before the deadline to extend him. nobody want to spend assets then find out they cant come to a deal with him. at least now they can talk to him before they trade for him, which im assuming the kings did, which would explain why they are considering demar over BI.

He didn't contribute to NOP winning 49 games last year?

I would credit CJ moreso than Ingram. Any team that pays Ingram $50 mill per won't be going anywhere. That i can assure you

I've never been an Ingram, something about his play style just not winning basketball. He's also not durable at all.
I talked myself into being happy with the possibility of him, but it was mostly my desire to see barnes and huerter gone asap
I was so happy to hear the kings pivoted towards DeRozan. DeMar is a better player than him, and will be for at least the next 2 years. He's also extremely reliable and won't cost anything close to ingram.

Ingram scored 27 points in 6 games on 48/40/83 at 22 in the playoffs. I think I will write that last series off as injury.
It is so funny that Lauri escapes the "empty stats" label because his teams are always in the lottery.

As always, without Zion. My guy Ingram is being underrated. He will not lead your team to a title, but he is a good second option and on a NBA with max salaries, those get maxed.
He had a down year, last season, but the season before he finished with 24/5/5 and had a good playoff series. Again, he is a flawed player, but is not easy to score on this Pels team, as Zion and Val doesnt shoot 3s, and their pg is Cj McCollum.
But Im happy he wasnt traded to Sacramento, he would be a really bad fit with Fox and Sabonis.

The idea of Brandon Ingram is much better than the actual player Brandon Ingram.
