I'm going KD

What Jaylen Brown did was impressive but I know many players on this list that could do similar impact when surrounded around Tatum, Zingis, Jrue, Derrick White, Horford. Put Jimmy Butler in his position. He probably wins finals MVP and they win in 5. Maybe even 4.

Also Wemby albeit should have won Defensive Player of the year. Imo is just outside of the top 15. I think he should be top 10 by seasons end but as of now KD is still better.

I also voted for KD.

He's still one of the best scorers in the league.

12 KD
13 Brown
14 Mitchell
15 Booker
16 Kawhi
17 Butler
18 Morant
19 Haliburton
20 Sabonis

That’s the rest of the top 20.

Durant turns 36 in September, has played in an average of 53 games the past 4 years, has won 1 playoff series the past 3 years, had a playoff series where he had a PER of 13.6, and he wasn’t in the top 12 last year in PER, WS, BPM, or VORP.

His reputation is living on past performance. Most players aren’t top 12 players at age 36. Kareem and LeBron are the exception.

I have Booker and Wemby ahead of him.

I think Wemby will be better than all those players next year. He’s going to be the best defensive player in the league in addition to the 20+ and 10+ he’ll put up.

He might be but right now as of July 28, 2024 he’s not a top 20 player yet.

JB disrespect is becoming hard to take.

Haliburton will win MVP this year, and this list will look really off

It's still KD. He's the last obvious person on the list I think.

After him, it's really open to interpretation. I'd prolly take Wemby next. He looks primed for a DPotY showing while leading his team in points/rebounds/blocks.

Jaylen Brown is next up after the playoffs he just had.

Has there been disrespect in these polls/threads. I’m his number one fan (not in a Kathy Bates sort of way) but he is getting a lot of votes in the 10th, 11th, 12th spots. Seem like he is getting recognition for his efforts in the playoffs.
I have him as a top 15 guy now, but you can’t really rank him above AD, Lebron, and others.
With KD and Wemby in this particular poll I can see arguments for all three. I don’t see any disrespect…though in years past there was plenty.

Dude is really good…but idk about that. It’s possible..and I agree he should be getting more votes here. He has a strong argument to be in the top 10 for sure.

Decent list. I might have Halliburton higher and Booker lower. Feels like Butler is at the end of his greatness to me. Morant is a big question. He could jump right back into the conversation…that whole team, Memphis will be really interesting.

I hope you're watching USA v Serbia.

Was Carlos Arroyo a top 12 player in 2004? Was Melo a top 12 player in 2016?

Haliburton
Sabonis
Wemby
Kawhi
Jaylen Brown

Thinking over some of these guys... pretty good competition.

I think JB has an argument vs guys that get injured every playoffs and/or choke.

As great as Embiid and KD and especially Kawhi are, they aren't reliable in long playoff runs.

Finals MVP means something for a young player.
