Well deserved, very iconic player who managed to carve out a nice career even though his offensive game was limited.
Conley up next for the Grizzlies I would assume.

Grit N' Grind was a cool era.
It's good to memorialize players from iconic eras because it gives fans a sense of pride in the team in the long run.
Tony Allen was one of the best screen navigators and iso defenders I've ever watched play. So slithery and strong.

It is a bit whack that Pau hasn't been retired yet. They could have retired the brothers together and it would have been a cool moment for the franchise.
I get retiring the Grit N' Grind team, but I don't see why Pau is still waiting.

Grizzlies retire a guy like Tony Allen but Bulls wont retire guys like Rodman, Gilmore, Hinrich, Deng, Rose, Noah, etc with multiple accolades and staples of the franchise lol
Tony Allen is a decent player but on what earth does he deserve a jersey retirement?

Marc deserves his own retirement, after being part of the grizz best years. No need to add Pau as a filler.

Well he is one of the greatest defensive players of all time, and he made majority of his defensive stops in a Grizzles uniforms. Sounds good to me. Overall decent player. Well liked. Sometimes that's all you need for things like this. I don't see an issue at all.

Good for him, and I really don't have a problem with this; He represented the culture of that Grizzlies era very well.
That said, he has to be the worst player in recent memory to get his jersey retired who wasn't a life-long member of the franchise right?

I'm not saying it's the right decision, but the Grit and Grind era had more team success than Pau ever did. Pau had 3 first-round exits. It was a decent run. But Grit and Grind was more successful for a longer period and a full culture. I get why they want to get through that group first.

Yea, he really had almost no game away from the basket, but I don't think we credit him on offense enough for his ability to get to the basket and to the line, he was just a miserable shooter.
Retiring him is definitely interesting. Even in the time he played, when spacing was still important, but a little less, his offensive limitations limited him to a career high 26.9 mpg, and even in Memphis, he only averaged 25 mpg.
