How Long Will It Take Before People Realize Ham Was Preventing The Lakers From Contending All This Time?

A freaking podcaster knows how to coach a team in 2 games, better than Ham with 12+ years as an assistant and 2 years coaching that same team with the same exact roster.
Adjustments in the 2nd half? Giving Anthony Davis the ball in 4th quarters that Ham never allowed? Just small examples right there that Ham never did while every single fan/media critic was telling him to do.

Like all the hate-posting from Lakers fans last 2 seasons didn't give it away?

Everyone and their moms knew Ham was holding this team back. It wasn’t some big secret.

As long as the lakers aren’t coached by Ham, and don’t face Jokic, Ill always like their chances against anyone out west in a series.

Nuggets are no longer a threat. We would have made light work of that team with JJ at the helm. I can’t take them serious replacing KCP with Westbrook and Murray still looks like a shell of himself.

Anyone with eyes (who actually watched the Lakers) could tell Ham was absolutely tragic as a head coach. Bad at literally everything.
Anyone with eyes (who actually watched the Lakers) could tell Westbrook was an absolute mess of a player regardless of fit.
Lakers being the Lakers and Bron being Bron, everyone on the outside decided to pretend that Ham and Russ were unfairly scapegoated.
People love bs narratives over all unfortunately

Don't let this distract you from the fact that Pelinka hired Ham, didn't fire him last season when every player was all the way out on him, let Caruso walk for nothing, threw a bag at THT, DLo and Schroeder (thankfully the latter turned it down).
The real person holding back the Lakers has been Pelinka

They played 2 most competitive sweeps(and gentlemans sweeps) in a row against top 3 contender in last 2 seasons. What more do you will?

The Lakers won the in-season tournament last year, and made the WCFs the year before. Everyone knows with their top end talent that they can get hot in bursts. The problem is threefold, and none of those problems is really related to coaching:
1) AD doesn't shoot 3s anymore like in 2020
2) Lebron is too old to go all out anymore, except in short bursts. That means the lakers need other guys who can step up, and their talent outside the top 2 isn't good enough.
3) They need a big 3 and D wing.
If the Lakers could get say an OG type player, and Gabe Vincent plays like he did in 2023, then yeh maybe they could get hot and win it all. The problem is a player like that is just so hard to get, and without it they match up horribly with certain teams like Denver. Even with OG & 2023 Gabe, they'd really need to play well to beat Denver. AD hitting 3s would help there.

Murray will always be threat to score game winners on the Lakers.
Regarding the OP, no, JJ isn't just a podcaster. He's a very good shooter that carved out a nice nba career, despite not being that athletic and struggling mightily early on.

The unearned arrogance by (some) Lakers fans continues to be mind-boggling.
But yes, Ham was trash, bringing disgrace to the good name of some good food.

The Lakers don't have enough shooting to truly contend. It's really that simple, you cannot contend in today's NBA while being one of the least proficient shooting teams. The 2023 Nuggets could not contend today, even though they were actually always top 5 in %. The Lakers are going to be in the last third in attempts, and likely in the last third in percentage as well, there is no way they will be able to overcome that with a 40-year-old LeBron.

I like that the narrative that they win only because of LeBron and lose only because of HC - is 50% dead. Good to see Lebron's coach getting props, but man, this a 2 games sample size...

I think there is a real chance that for first time in Lebrons career, he will take a blame if something goes wrong(even though probably right now he shouldnt because he is 40...).
JJ is good at playing the media, playing the fans there is no chance he will get any blame if **** go sideways...
And dont get me wrong JJ is a great basketball mind, and he already showed he is invested 500%. He will be a great coach.
Only problem i see is that he will not be able to do that for 82 games per season, he will burn out if he doesnt delegate things to assistants. We all know he likes the attention and he is control freak, but it will be hard to do it during whole season.

You're implying that the Lakers are contenders without him.

lol i skipped at 2:30 just to see what is video about since i know its made by lebron fan and just at that point he says: "We ran out of talent, i gave my best, guys played hard as they could(and showing gesture with his hand as they are bad, but they tried)." i didnt even watch after that...
