Holmgren will be a popular answer here (and the correct one IMHO), but it's much closer than people think considering Sengun is actually younger than Chet and has been making a steady progress year after year.

Still, Holmgren's upside is DPOTY defender - elite spot up shooter - 3-level scorer and that's superstar territory, but I can easily imagine Sengun having a better career, considering health (and him being freakin good on his own).

Chet 100% has the higher upside due to his floor spacing three point shooting combined with his defense. Obviously there is some injury concerns with Chet but I would bet 99% of GMs would take Chet. The fact that Sengun took less than max money in a contract extension when Chet is 100% without a doubt a full max guy.

Depends entirely on the composition of your team and what you specifically need.

Sengun wouldn't necessarily be a good choice if your team needs elite interior defence or a big that spreads the floor. Equally, Chet may not be your first choice if you want a guy to act as a bit of an offensive hub, with a lot of actions running through him.

I'd probably just lean towards Sengun on the basis of health. Holmgren has already missed an entire season and is out for a good chunk of this one too. Sengun has averaged 70 games a season since his debut.

Chet has a higher ceiling but I vote Sengun simply because I think Chet will be constantly battling injuries. He’s already had two injuries that suggest a very weak frame and bone structure.

I need to know if Chet is going to play 70% of the rest of the games of his career or not.

They are almost polar opposites profile wise while being very good young talents, so it's an interesting one. Where Holmgren excels Şengün is questionable, where Şengün excels Holmgren is questionable.

Chet has the higher upside overall and is easier to fit into teams. Elite rim protection and switchability with outside shooting combo is massively valuable. If you add some shot creation and passing ability on top it, and Chet has shown potential in that regard, you're going to be enormously impactful.

With Alperen, I think the offensive upside is clearly higher, especially if he can add a consistent outside shot to keep defenses honest. His defense is showing a lot of improvement this season, he's becoming more of a rim protector and separating himself in that sense from other players of the same archetype in Jokic and Sabonis.

It comes down to who your other players are, honestly. If I'm starting from scratch, I'm taking Chet, injury concerns not withstanding. It's not a "not even close" case though.

Talent wise I'd prefer Chet by a small margin but if I had to pick one right now I am going with Sengun. Holmgren seems like the kind of guy who can't stay on the court unfortunately.

Chet is way more versatile. Sengun is probably a better #1 option but he will need a perfect team to maximize his strengths. Chet is like Anthony Davis, a perfect #2 that can fit anywhere.

Chet if you already have a great team and need a guy who understands his role. Sengun if you need someone to build around and become a no.1 or no.2 option.

Chet's a better player, but I'd rather have Sengun because he is more likely to be available.

What would have changed since Chet won in a landslide the first time?

Chet, Sengun and Paolo all hold about the same (exceptionally high) value to me. Sengun is an offensive hub in the vein of Jokic. Chet is an ELITE defensive player with floor spreading ability who can anchor the defensive side for you. Paolo is an offensive force who is playing like a more athletic version of the Blake we saw in Detroit. All 3 of them seem to be in a good team setup for their strengths, OKC being the furthest along as SGA is SGA.

Sengun's situation is interesting as both Jabari AND Eason fit exceptionally well with him, but Houston will not be able to afford both. That future backcourt of Amen and Reed also looks like it could be nasty as well. (Jalen Green Im still not sold on, but he's looking better as of late).

Orlando has the best athletes of the the 3 imo, but the lack of a true PG is gonna hamper them to a small degree.

These 3 teams (along with SA with Wemby) are going to be ruling the NBA in a couple of years, with OKC's time possibly already here.

I love my Pistons (500 after tonight? possibly!) but the lack of a dominant bigman (Jalen Duren has the potential but not the discipline) is gonna cap us in the modern NBA. There is just too much top end front court talent in the league now.

Not sure in a vacuum, but definitely Chet for my team (NYK).

80% of this site said that Duren was better than Sengun just a few months ago.
