NFL ratings are rising, while NBA's are tanking. And NFL comes into NBA's turf to spank them. After they spanked College Football on their playoff debut last weekend.

What is the NBAs turf? Christmas games?

NBA is out of luck there. The next four Christmas are Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Monday. So all days the NFL can use in their schedule in late December.
Gotta get to 2029 when Christmas falls on a Tuesday when the NFL might skip it... (but wouldn't bet on it at this point)

NBA shouldn’t have started sucking. NFL must be licking their chops seeing NBA’s decline and how they can capitalize

It was over the second the NFL got an extra week and asked for Christmas.

I predict the football games to triple the NBAs ratings. They more than doubled the CFB's (silly ass) playoff series ratings on Saturday. Even in this bastion of BBall fandom, everyone seems very lukewarm on NBA action today.

Devin Booker is out. Anthony Davis, Lebron James, Jamaal Murray, and Jayson Tatum are all questionable. If a player is not 100% they will sit out, and even if they are 100% they still might sit. Fans are sick of players behavior, whether or not it's justified is another question.

Does the nba even generate money anymore? Lol
The change their jerseys every year to increase jersey sales - I never see anyone wearing jerseys.
They sign huge multi billion dollar tv deals - ratings are down and many don’t have cable or watch the games.
Clippers build a brand new state of the art arena - attendance is nearly half empty.
Do hot takes by sports personalities and Tik tok highlight reals really generate income? Because that’s the only place I see the NBA thriving. Talking points and highlight clips. And franchise valuations of course.

It's the NFL that is sucking.
The quality of the product is all an all time low. The NFL changes their rules to make their stars look good. The NBA is constantly being pestered to change their rules so that their stars look bad.

Everyone knows that's not true.

The quality of NFL is at all time low. Tom Brady has said this several times.
Just because ratings are high doesn’t mean the league is actually good.

Mediocrity in NFL is still far superior than NBA

What does that have to do with the NFL not being good? The ratings are the highest it’s ever been even though the league is the worst it’s ever been.

With the return of the running back position (Barkley, Henry, Jacobs, Gibbs/Montgomery, etc), the variety of quarterback styles, the NFL is as well as ever. All time low

I don’t see every little penalty that will favor the offense as much as the NBA does.

And yet far more people are choosing to watch that over NBA. That's says a lot about the NBA.

those numbers are misleading imo
interest in the NBA (and viewership) may be dwindiling in the U.S compared to the NFL but internationally the NFL holds very little appeal and the NBA is exploding. money wise, advertisers wise, merchandise wise - does it really matter if the ppl paying for the product are from Europe, China or the states?

Let’s just say they better not piss off China again. They might have to speak in Chinese to apologize.

the growth isn't in China this time around, it's mostly in Europe and in alot of developing countries

Some of it is ease of access. I'm having to stay in an Airbnb right now because my house had a massive issue that will take months to fix. I had no problem getting the games at home with cable, but here I have a "smart" TV and good luck finding any NBA games playing on it, I'd have to get youtubeTV or league pass something but I don't want to pay the price of that. I don't particularly want to bother buying an antenna to access even the local games either. The only sport I have access to is the NFL and some lame ass mixed martial arts garbage
