Could be shotgunning Stella cans in his left and dribbling the ball with his right and he's still worth more then Anthony Davis and a first

Pelians after Zion being out of shape for almost his entire NBA career: "Uhm, hey Zion, could you maybe lose a pound or two? You know, if you don't mind?"
Mavs after Luka got them to the NBA Finals: "GET THE **** OUT OF HERE YOU FAT ****!"

Russillo said on the Bill Simmons pod that Luka could be smoking cigarettes while he was on the court and he would beg him to sign the max.

They do know weight can come off, right? He needs to get healthy first.

Not sure how this is the conclusion when he’s injured and probably just haven’t been healthy enough to work out. But if this is true, then you get him help not trade him.

Anyone else wondering if we’ve already seen the peak of Luka’s career?

when Luka popped that beer after winning the WCF and Michael Finley walked up and took it away from him. You had to feel like that was almost a clear signal from the FO saying "we don't think you have the right mentality", and look, it makes sense for a guy that's on a rookie deal, still new to the NBA, over achieves. But Luka is making max money to be the next "LeBron James" or "Kobe Bryant" etc. and Dallas has constructed their team clearly to be able to win today.

There has to be more behind the scenes, I think that Dallas felt like they had given Luka so much opportunity to be the best he could be and relative to what he could be, he was underperforming. Showing up out of shape, not taking his diet and conditioning seriously, and this was kind of the only way to really hurt him, because it removes the super max, it also hits him on the state taxes, he's going to make A LOT less money to be the same guy now, except he's in Los Angeles on the freakin' LAKERS.

Now if the Lakers believe that having LeBron in the locker room with Luka can fix his clear behavioral and mentality based issues, then so be it. It feels like there is some work to be done here. However, the basketball fit between LeBron and Luka is so questionable. The Lakers are CLEARLY a worse team than yesterday. The Lakers were SLIGHTLY turning a new leaf here, 5th in the West, just beat the Knicks, things were honestly looking up, maybe they could have a 2nd round exit, maybe they could sneak into the WCF, maybe they had a shot to win it all.

It almost feels like they slammed the door on LeBron, basically said, "alright we are going to rebuild and think selfishly for a bit now, Luka Doncic gives US the best possible future"

So you have to wonder, if LeBron will be out the door soon and if so that means that Luka is going to be in a locker room with basically no real veteran superstar to guide him and you tie that in with his existing bad habits, the difference of lifestyle in LA, and it really does show a lot of risk.

The Chosen One will bless him with the blueprint to keep his body at peak performance. Nothing to worry about.

Some of you guys are skeptical, but I heard Windhorst verified this by joining Luka on the see-saw.

I was really wondering this about Luka, what I was wondering was, what if Luka ends ups being like 32 years old with no MVPs, no rings, just a dude that shows up on the stat sheet and All NBA/All Star but wins nothing, would he be considered a failure?

"I need a recovery beer." After recording a triple-double.

Michael Finley having to take a beer out of his hands after winning the West last year.

Dallas having concerns about his "conditioning."

It isn't just a "get him help" issue. It has to be acknowledged from within. If he doesn't feel he has a problem, he won't address it. Unless someone form the Mavs straight-up told him, "we traded you because you have an alcohol abuse issue and you need help and we don't think we could've helped you," it's a bit rough and if* they felt he wouldn't have listened, they figured they'd get something that fits their current team in return by not having to pay him a potential $300 million deal to miss half the season because his obsession with the game doesn't match his talent.

Yes. McMahon.

The report was that Luka got to the high 260's at some point this season, not that he's necessarily that weight now. He said it on SportsCenter.

As far as if Luka has peaked, only if his body has worn out. Otherwise it's just an echo of what we heard early on, in the first year or two, saying the same thing about him supposedly not being able to improve which was laughable then and is laughable now.
