This seemed predictable.

Told ya'll. It was too obvious. He's a huge addition for a bench on a team utterly devoid of any ball handlers or playmakers. The team is so inept at passing that they literally can't make simple entry passes into the post without turnovers. Will take a ton of pressure off Harden to generate all of the playmaking offense. He won't be expected to score at all. Just defend, rebound, and push the break.

Dude was willing to throw away his prime so he could go to LA. That’s dedication. But he got there finally so I expect a good defensive player who will get a solid contract with the Lakers or Clippers next year.

The Clippers are even worse than Detroit when it comes to reclaiming another teams garbage.

Ben Simmons as a bench player isn't "garbage". Ben Simmons as a star or high minute starter is garbage. He's got positive defensive metrics. He's a very big get for a couple million on a team that is AWFUL at playmaking, dribbling and simply making plays for each other. Their only player capable of running a play and making the right pass right now is Harden, and even he's sloppy.

Since he's for the minimum, I don't really care, he can just pass to Bogi and the rest and forgo layups. He won't be playing in crunch time or any important stretches.

Ben has finally arrived at the promised land and nobody forced his hand. It was his decision alone. Hopefully this puts his mind at ease and he can get back to being the player he once was. It has been a very long journey for him.

He’s going to be motivated to audition for a long term fit with the Lakers or the Clippers. Clippers still won’t win anything but he’s going to be better than in Brooklyn.

Even if he's not any better, totally different expectations and there's places to fit him to help the team. He was still okay with Brooklyn, just not for the cost.

Will he actually be able to play in every game moving forward or does he need to be load managed as well?

True but the guy faked a mental health crisis to try to get to LA. Then had a chronic injury in Brooklyn because the Sixers didn’t give him what he wanted. Now he has what he wanted all along.

What could possibly go wrong...

This guy just cares about money and being in a nice city lol. It must be nice to be in the NBA where you get rewarded for being a clown.

Was there ever a more apt juxtaposition between these two franchises than the Clippers getting handed Ben Simmons and the Lakers getting handed Luka Doncic?

Kudos to him, sets himself up better for his next deal this way.

So, from a hypothetical standpoint, let’s assume now that Ben is back in his hometown and is back playing with his mentor, James Harden, what happens to the Clippers if he regains his all-star form? Could this make the Clippers contenders?
