Mavs security ejected multiple fans for “Fire Nico” signs, which security said was “derogatory”.
Another was ejected for wearing a shirt depicting owner Miriam Adelson with a clown nose on.

Seems incredibly soft to me, and not likely to bring upset fans back in.
Feels like the wealthy and powerful feel more entitled to be shielded from any criticism these days. Fans pay for their tickets, let them express their pleasure or displeasure as long as it’s not obscene or threatening.
There were 1,000 fans protesting outside the game against Houston on Saturday btw. You’d think the team would be more worried about getting fans back on board than protecting their own feelings.

Respect to Kyrie and Klay however, who both said they completely understood the fans frustration.

I mean, I get why the team doesn't want a bunch of anti-team signs being shown on tv during games. It's directed at management right now, but there are always a certain number of fans upset with the coach or a particular player. You can see why the organization wouldn't want personal criticisms of anyone in the org displayed like that.

eg with Kyrie and some of the crazy stuff he has said, there were some rabbi's holding up "I'm a jew and I'm proud" signs at a road game in utah. Utah security had the signs removed. And it wasn't even their player.

Pistons had "sell the team" chants last year during the 28 game losing streak. They probably would have had to kick out all 700 of the fans in the building if they were getting rid of people chanting something negative about the owner/manager.

They even kicked out a fan for yelling it while on the jumbotron

They should all start wearing Lakers Luka jerseys to the game. That would be something.

To be fair our GM also had an altercation with a fan. We weren’t exactly the picture of how to handle this either.

I hope some fans smuggle in beach balloons with fire nico on them, so the crowd can play keep away from the security once they try to confiscate them.
