Right now, LeBron & Curry are the biggest names in NBA. They'll retire soon.

Do you agree with Mitchell's opinion?

Without being quick to judge, I'm guessing there is an American bias that the face of the league needs to be American or at least American presenting, which I can accept.

Personally, I don't think of Mitchell as the "face of the league" type of guy but if he can somehow take Cleveland to new heights as the clear number, have crazy playoff performances and win the chip, there is some potential because he does have flair to his game.

I predict:
1. Anthony Edwards = best 3-point shooter in the NBA
2. Victor Wembanyama = best defender in the NBA
3. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander = best mid-range shooter in the NBA

No one in Cleveland is going to be the face of the MVP... Even if his team is good and he's got multiple all-stars around him.

When LeBron/KD/Curry retire you're still going to have guys like Giannis & Jokic each with multiple MVPs and championships. Luka in LA is clearly going to be a face of the NBA as well.

When you get asked a question like this it's not like you have prepared remarks. I imagine it's easy to overlook someone.

Tatum
Wemby
SGA
Flagg
Luka

would be my guess for 5 years from now

Ja and Ant perhaps but I feel like there are red flags with those guys.

Yeah that would never happen. I mean can you imagine it? A player from Cleveland becoming the face of the league/MVP? When did that ever happen.........

We’ve had someone be the face of the league before…

I really think only JA and Ant have a chance to truly be famous.

Inside and outside the court.

Agree, he didn't seem to be giving a comprehensive list either. He was bringing up examples as he thought about them.
Kids played football, drove cars, went to school, celebrated life; while soldiers, heroes, their brothers struggled to find their way home from war; and young boys watched and grew wiser in their dreams.

Am I the only one who thinks he didn't say much. He pretty much said we will wait and see.
