JJ Redick on LeBron: "He's amazing to coach"

"He's a billionaire, & he's playing on the 2nd night of a back-to-back at 40 after 22 years with every freaking record & every accolade"

"He sets the standard for how you're supposed to approach this craft"

Those are his words. LeBron is very much well respected around the league. It's crazy we get these troll threads questioning his commitment to the game of basketball. This man is a billionaire and he's playing a silly little game. Appreciate that he's still around giving us fans something to watch daily.

40 years old and still dropping 40 on the youngsters head. We are witnessing greatness people. Respect The GOAT!

It's amazing to me that there are people that think JJ is coaching Lebron or the Lakers.

Great coach. Great 40 year old player.

LeBron has always been considered a good teammate and leader. Or course you have the deranged group of people who get upset by anything LeBron does saying otherwise, but he sets the gold standard for how to approach and play the game.

Inb4 the usual suspects get extremely butthurt by this thread.

Do we really really need another Lebum main board thread ? Also didn't LBJ want Spo fired at Miami and got Vogel fired at the Lakers?

JJ is a puppet of LBJ it needs to be said as well so we cannot take any testimonials of him seriously

Lot of good vibes on that squad.

Plenty for Luka to do to get and stay healthy and fit in with a new unit, but the Lakers may be the place for it.

Bron likes him, he's buddies with DFS and he and the center have the same agent and are friends.

I mean the guy is not wrong. That did happen with Spo and was well covered at the time. Blatt got fired and replaced by a yes man in Ty Lue and JJ is another puppet coach for LBJ. Let's not gloss over that no one wanted the LAL head coach job before this season started so they hired a podcaster. Ham was rightfully let go because he was a bad coach but the fact that he even got the job in the first place says a lot.

The last actual NBA level coach that also got them a ring in 2020 was sacked. Because he actually tried to coach the team and LBJ. Some egos can't take critisism at all. And some fanboys will put blinders on.

Non of this takes away any of the greatness of LBJ as a player btw. At the very top all time at the minimum. With a different mindset maybe could've had his very own tier though.

You seriously haven't been following JJ. That guy is not a puppet of anyone. I remember JJ his first day on the job went at Stephen A Smith on his own show. That guy speaks his mind and doesn't back down from anyone.

He genuinely likes coaching LeBron.

Problem with Bron is that we don't know who he's paying & who he isn't when it comes to media figures pumping him up. He's great, but he cares too much about controlling the narrative. It's why a lot of people dislike him.

Nobody likes backstabbers or people who have ulterior motives. We can even see this right now in the political world and why the country voted the way it did. What's the saying, "dont **** in my cereal and tell me it's raining."

Being transparent will draw in people. As opposed to being "perceived" as the good guy/woman who you find out are pathological liars

Or maybe they’re just telling the truth.

So Lebron has unlimited money and resources to throw at countless people for a minor soundbite that makes him look good? “Here’s a check, call me the GOAT on a livestream that will be clipped on Twitter”

And all the Lebron haters are just people that Lebron didn’t get a chance to pay off?

Or maybe Lebron is just a polarizing figure that some people love and some people hate.

No you are just gullible about JJ. I'm sure he does genuinely like having the Lakers head coach title, and I'm not bashing his basketball knowledge in any way. He had a very respectable and long career at the top level as a role player and he definitely knows his X/O's as well as anyone with his playing history should.

But to think that he is actually coaching LBJ and telling him anything other than yes sir/thank you sir or calling him out on anything is ludacris. No actual, proven NBA level coach wants that job.

Also, in case you lot forgot or just missed it, JJ and LBJ had a proper campaign for him to get the head coach position. Rivals most US presidential campaigns imo.

Nah, people voted the way they did because they are easily manipulated. One side was just better at controlling the narrative.

Most people like to hear things they think themselves. Even if it's just one or two points they can relate to themselves. And if it's on the news it must be correct. It's human nature, people in this thread belive anything a coach/player said in a post game presser. As if the person talking will be honest to the media and in turn hurt their teams public representation and create drama within the team. I mean the players/coaches get PR training for this.

"i wont pardon my son"

"the border is secure"

americans never forget bro..

and those were just the 2 obvious quotes lol, like i said politicians in washington these past 4 years were operating like we are still in the 90's and not like we arent in the digital age, places like x/twitter are now showing people whats happening not just in the country but around the world, and their messaging tends to fall on deaf ears now as opposed to before. Also they foolishly doubled down and tried to censor people/platforms because they couldnt control what was being shown on x, and to a lesser extent tiktok. Regardless of how you feel about the joker we have in office now, what nobody can deny is he is usually if able readily available to the press and takes questions from ALL media outlets, like i know people who are lifelong left leaning voters who gave donny credit for daring to go on platforms where he wasnt usually well liked and sat and talked, its little things like this that make impressions on everyday working americans that feel largelyy like their voices arent being heard

Please don't derail basketball discussions with politics. We have a Current Affairs board for that. -b

I mean, they signed LeBron's buddy to be "head coach" so of course he's going to stroke Bron's ego every few days. That's 70% of his job description.

The man has an absolute brilliant basketball mind. And to have that kind of commitment after 20+ years in the league is unbelievable. Nobody has done it so good for so long. I am extremely happy that I got to witness it all. I can't believe I saw this man's entire career right in front my eyes. He is by far the best ambassador of basketball. I hope he gets one more ring before he calls it quits.

I'm so confused by the entire conversation happening here lol

Like yeah Bron and JJ are buddies. That's how JJ got the job, and I'm sure they enjoy working with each other so far. It would only be newsworthy if one of them was expressing otherwise tbh

And like that's why all the stuff about Spo or Vogel or whoever just doesn't really apply here. The dynamics are just different and it's really just not that deep

And I promise you none of this has anything to do with any politics or elections some of y'all just need to get a grip fr lol
