I could be wrong, but I'm under the impression that most teams that play late into the playoffs have a host of guys playing through a pretty significant injury- just for the sake of the team. But when the future looks bleak, because other star players are going down, it makes less sense for other role players to play through an injury in a failed season. Get the surgery - let your team get a better draft pick, and come back healthy in pre-season.

Ok... this season is slowly becoming a paranormal phenomenon. There is some kind of voodoo magic **** going on with Mavs.

Maybe we should all be applauding the Mavericks for saving Luka from whatever curse they're afflicted by...

Breaking news: the piece of paper with details of pick from the Mavs received in the Luka trade has been ripped. Mavs will take some time to put it back together but it is unlikely that it will ever reach 100%.

I mean that sucks because it would have been good to get him reps while they tank

So glad the Mavs are raising ticket prices. I am sure they are lining up to see this team. Owners really **** up this fan base

Ok so how many players left to play in any official game? Four? What happens when you have no players left? Bring in d-league players?

Yep. O-Max has not been good enough to get rotation minutes when they are trying to compete. He could really have used this time to get pumped full of minute to see if he can develop in to a future rotation piece for them.

That was one hell of a half they had against the Rockets though..

Unpopular opinion and Luka is my 2nd favourite player but imo some of the problems started from coming into the season out of shape after being begged not to. This is no curse, it's mileage. He got injured and everyone had to shoulder his massive absence. For a brief period they looked unsustainably good and played crazy on defense on top of having to make up for his offensive production. Thought it was a ticking timebomb back when they whooped OKC twice. Trade should never have happened but I'll never feel bad for athletes getting paid millions to get fat.

Why would a team trade a guy who has a candy bar named after him? It doesn't make sense.

Ok, NOW they won't have a shot to win the championship. AD & Kyrie was one thing, but this is the final straw.

I think this justifies the Luka trade because they were worried about his long term health.

The injuries for Dallas started a long time before the Luka trade. They have been cursed all season.
