I saw it is that time of year where it goes on sale for 20

As someone who likes the gm mode after buying the last 4 I realized they do nothing to make it accurate even though their game budgets are huge.

Examples are like saying only players with less than three years of experience can sign a 2 way when in reality we have seen NBA players with more experience who sign them in real life. Also the trade logic seems still the same as like 2k17 at its backbone every year. Also they don't take into account picks that are actually owed by teams in the future

Also if you play my team it seems everyone wants to play as dark matter Gheorge Muresan Tacko Fall and Wemby. If I wanted to get a dark matter Gilbert Arenas it seems like I would have had to grind a month without even an option to buy. Like some of your favorites players have weird lockdowns that would require you to eat and breath the game to get.

I find it a great game to casually play after work but when you get online it ends up being against a player that has mastered a superstar players shot and they just kill you with that. Seems like they are playing 12 hours a day against someone who just wants to play casually a few times a week. In that case you always get destroyed.


I also find actual real life basketball style isn't played. It's just let me pick a superstar and master their shot. There are people with actual skill but it's usually a person doesn't want to play unless they can just totally destroy you. If your close they would rather quit the game unless they are beating you by 30 and gloating. People don't want to play competitive close games.

Is 2k25 worth it for 20? Did they fix anything from last year.

Do I like it? No.
Do I play it anyway? FML

I like it, but can see why some players have turned away - The pay-to-play aspect of it now is annoying (I'm a grinding to 99 kind of guy so don't pay but I still see the issue).

I also don't play online and only MyCareer and MyGM get runs.

But like Harry Potter or Marvel, I'm a fan boy so am going to eat up anything relating to NBA

Only got the last 3-4 iterations for their league pass bundle and played them maybe 20 minutes altogether. This year I missed out on that edition and just bought 2k25 after the Luka trade for $30. I’d say it’s the best one in a loooong time, although I never play online. 2k25 is definitely worth the $20 price tag

I play college hoops 2k8 purely for the dynasty mode and recruiting.

Last 2k I played was 2k10. Damn I'm getting old.

2k vs others online is so laggy. And that's living in a major city with good internet connection.

2K is the worst sports game and absolute garbage now. I bought a basketball game every year since probably 2000, first NBA Live and then transitioned to 2K once Live started dying, but stopped 3 years ago because it was just too bad. Then I purchased this years edition when it was on sale and already deleted it off my console.

It has the same **** problem:
- players move like they’re sliding on ice
- constant passing to the player you didn’t mean to pass too
- players purposely adjust their shot/body to get chase down blocked
- constant turnovers on full-court passes
- CPU controlled team mates helping and fouling for no reason when you’re locking a player down manually

Etc.

It’s the same nonsense every year. They stopped caring about gameplay since there’s no competition now, it’s all about microtransactions and My Player. All I care about is online head 2 head since I play sports games for the competition, and I just can’t play this game anymore. I will stick to FIFA.

All about MyPlayer? Hardly. That doesn’t make them any money.

MyTeam is the disaster. The money-grabbing gets worse every year.

I only play MyLeague and keep things as realistic as possible throughout the entire league. It's a lot of work but so fun imo.

This game is only playable on PC with mods

I haven’t purchased it in a few years due to a few gripes. The servers over the years became crap for anything outside of MyPlayer stuff. My primary way of playing for years was my 2 brothers and me doing a 3 person league starting with a draft, but over the years the games became more and more unplayable due to lag. Couldn’t time basic jumpers because of multi-second delays, and sometimes we’d run straight out of bounds. Once my brothers mostly bailed on the games, I did try getting into MyPlayer stuff, but the minimal updates from year to year made it easy to burn out. I already has a pattern of buying every 2 years in hopes that a bit of a gap led to a wider variation from one game I owned to the next, but even that didn’t lead to big enough changes/improvements. It’s been 3 years since I’ve got a 2k game, and I’ll get one again someday, but I’m not even convinced it will be next season. Maybe if Blazers land Flagg I’ll want to play around with that team.

Played MyCareer in 2k 12 & 13, then I simply grew up and life happened.

I do think MyCareer is the single most creative idea ever in a basketball game, but unfortunately that was 13 years ago.

There's only one 2K basketball game and it's the greatest.

It's legit the only game I play. That game was ahead of its time.
