Top 5 favorites according to betting odds:

Serbia (+350)
Germany (+400)
France (+600)
Greece (+800)
Slovenia (+1200)

Group A

Group with the biggest favorite in a tournament - Serbia. Serbia is clear favorite to win group A, although host Latvia and underlooked Türkiye will be a tough nut for everyone. Chechia hopes to get in on the action too. I expect theese 4 teams to qualify, leaving Estonia and Portugal behind.

Group B

Germany is a clear favorite in this group. Lithuania could have something to say, but I expect them to be second. Host Finland alongside Montenegro could surprise. These should be top 4 teams in the group, Swedem and Great Britain shouldn't be much of a factor.

Group C

Pretty deep group. Greece, Spain and Italy could all win this group. Georgia and Bosnia & Herzegovina also have talent. If I had to pick, I would say Bosnia does not qualify, but this is first group were top 4 teams aren't clear. Host Cyprus should undoubtfully end up last.

Group D

SImilar to group C, gorup D has 5 teams who will expect to be in the playoffs. France and Slovenia are the favorites, but Belgium, Israel and Poland will fight for those last 2 spots. Iceland shouldn't be a factor.

Probably a bit reach to call it group of death, but I would say group C would be closest to that title. Greece is probably favorite there, but main 5 teams (excluding Cyprus) all can beat each other on a good day.

Welcome Luke, our teams play each other, Lithuania vs Germany. We just got news that Domantas Sabonis will likely miss this tournament.

I hope for an exciting game like last Eurobasket. Sabonis was bad but Jonas was killing the German bigs. Then there was this weird free throw situation when nobody knew what was happening.

Sabonis sadly never had a single good FIBA showing, I try to calm myself that its not a big loss even, considering how he always played, but there is always that hope that this time he would be great.

Valančiūnas have been our best player for years, it was really his generation, but even Jonas dominating in these games, even at FIBA level he was often played off the court in clutch time, because he couldn't guard pick and roll action at all.

Sadly, we have new federation, and in the coaching staff we have Tomas Pačėsas, a hack since Prokom trefl days, always hated that guy, man helped ruining Motiejūnas IMO, and he recently said some really stupid things about Jonas, and Jonas was very upset. Jonas still hopes to play in Eurobasket, as he plays for Lithuania, not coaching staff, his words, but in Lithuania that was top story these past two days, beef between idiot who shouldn't be in his position, and our best player of past 10 years. Sad story all around.

Grigonis probably wont play either, but we are hoping to see Matas Buzelis debut.

Our group is not that scary. Germany undoubtfully favorite, tho if Lithuania wins the group that wouldn't be shocking. Finland and Montenegro are scary teams but they would slide in that second tier IMO, Finland as host being third team and possible for few upsets, Britain and Sweden will should be a cake walk for both Germany and Lithuania, but we will see. WOuld be cool if Anunoby played, but that aint happening.

Lots of good players not named here. Bojan is Croatian tho, he is not Bosnian. But Luka Garza plays for Bosnia, tho he is not very good even in FIBA, but hey, its Luka Garza, its cool 8-)

Out of players not named by you, I would highlight :

Jan Veselý and Tomáš Satoranský of Czechia (thats how they are called now apparently)
Latvias gem Artūrs Žagars
Alperen Şengün of Türkiye (thats also how we call Turkey these days)
Neemias Queta of Celtics fame for Portugal
Lots of other Germans : Obst, Da Silva brothers including one from Magic,
Matas Buzelis for Lithuania, Domantas Sabonis wont play most likely
Nikola Vučević for Montenegro. will be interesting if Bojan Dubljević plays, he is also very good center, but he has been absent, probably Russia reasons.
Spain will be depended on their most Spaniard guy ever - Lorenzo Brown  Still mad about 2022... sorry not sorry
Greece, Kostas Sloukas has to be their best guy now after Giannis, he is getting older tho.
Italy has Simone Fontecchio, hes probably their best guy nowadays. Also Nicolo Melli still good
Georgia has Mamu and Goga Bitadze, also Tornike Shengelia, very formidable frontline
France stacked, with new coach they might invite actually good guards, like Sylvain Francisco and Élie Okobo. Their two best centers Wemby and Mathias Lessort will probably not play, they still have many NBA centers like Gobert, Sarr, Diabate, also Moustapha Fall, Vincent Poirier, Joffrey Lauvergne, they are not short on centers.
Poland has Jeremy Sochan, would be very interesting to see him, could he be star for Poland, or just athletic role player?

Wemby will most likely not be playing, Coulibaly and Gobert should be part of the squad though.

Yeah, Lessort most likely also out. I wonder which NBA team could have most participants? Without looking at rosters, I think Magic will have some in Wagner, Da Silva, Bitadze. Thats at least 3.

Sylvain Francisco is having a break out season in Euroleague, granted on a bottom feeder team, but still. Coach Collet didn't even invite him last year which was very weird. Also, Collet cut Elie Okobo, who is generally very high quality Euro guard. I think these two are way more capable than let say Ntilikina, who was Collets pet for some reason.

Also, France's best PG of these past several years has been Thomas Heurtel, but he was blackballed because he decided to play in Russia. He is no longer plays in Russia, so the ban could be lifted maybe?

But yes, very sad that Victor is out.

Théo Maledon is having a great year for Asvel and is reportedly being courted by teams like Real Madrid, he would be a great addition.

Right, how did I forget him. Maledon emerging as Euroleague superstar, granted he plays for ASVEL. Him going to Real is almost guarantee, Real is very interested and he just said he wants to play for Real. ASVEL has zero chance keeping him.

Tornike Shengelia? I do not think he played for 76ers, he played for Nets. He is pretty good PF, versatile and pretty athletic, he plays in Euroleague, has been good Euroleague PF in the past, but currently he plays for probably saddest Euroleague team, VIRTUS. They are second last in standings, on 9 game losing streak and just lost a game by 36 points. To lose by 36 in Euroleague is quite an achievement. His stats are still good 15.7 / 5.3 / 2.7 on great efficiency, so hopefully he ends up on some better team, or Virtus just improves.

As For Eurobasket, Gerogia got pretty unforgiving draw with group C, but as I said, their frontcourt is decent, they also have Goga from magic and Mamu from Spurs, they will have to match against Giannis, Aldama, Nurkic, Melli etc.

Sorry about that, but overall, German Basketball is at all time high. World Champions and you have 2 teams in Euroleague still. To think nations like Croatia and Slovenia haven't had Euroleague teams in forever. I guess Croatia had Cedevita for one season there, Slovenia haven't had a team since Union Olimpia. Sad times, Luka Doncic basically saved Slovenian Basketball from complete death.
