I remember when they announced that Michael Keaton had been cast as Batman, I was horrified. Keaton had done well in the 80’s as a frenetic Everyman in comedies like “Night Shift,” “Mr. Mom” and “Johnny Dangerously,” and he definitely had comedic timing and an expressive face that could make you laugh, which he used to full effect in “Beetlejuice” the year before. That’s my Batman, and that’s why Michael Keaton is the only guy that can play him for me.
