https://www.si.com/nba/clippers/news/knicks-sign-former-clippers-veteran-to-two-year-deal-01jqq461dfwmProbably costs very little cap space wise but this is a spot on the roster that could have gone to a young player. Very strange signing but totally on brand for Thibs

He’s played all of 2 minutes for the Knicks and hardly at all in the past 2 seasons
Very strange

He used to shoot open 3's he does not anymore. He has spent more time not playing than playing these last 2 season and he still lands on an NBA team. Wow his agent is awesome.

He's going to be good for the bench. Tough enforcer types are good to have on your roster, even if they don't play at all. Outside of his experience, he's also not been playing which is actually a good thing for most players his age. He'll be 100% fresh to sub in get some stops and maybe hit a corner 3 or 2.
A few names like Horford and CP3 come to mind in these scenarios where vets get extended time off from the game at an older age, and then can come back and play at a higher level than they could have if they continued putting the everyday physical stress on themselves. PJ is much worse than the 2 in my example, but this could be a poor mans version of that.

LOL.
PJ Tucker. James Johnson. Jae Crowder. All have been granted the Udonis Haslem treatment.
None of them are earning millions to play basketball. They're there to rabble rouse with opponents and to act tough in dustups. It's a good gig if you can get it.

So Pajamas is going the Udonis Haslem route? I legit had no idea he was still in the leagues, but not surprised he's seen as a positive influence behind the scenes.

I mean it’s literally the best job in the world. No one expects you to play. Just sit on the bench, talk trash & act tough. Boom. Millions of dollars.

I just assume these are contracts paid to dudes looking to get onto a coaching staff and being player coaches

Even pj tucker himself didn't know he got a two year nba contract. He was watering his garden in his robe when it happened. It's like passive or residual income to this guy.

I initially read he signed a two-way contract and thought why in the world would he do this? Love PJ ever since he played for my team in Europe and happy for him but this is wild.
