NBA players voting based on vibes and not basketball impact.
Ja is far and away number 1 as the Grizz have managed without Ja for many years. Plus his advanced stats are ugly
Gobert on the other hand, anchored 2 teams to have one of the best defenses in the league and yet he is number 2 on this list

This list tells me NBA players are real bad at player evaluation.

It's probably a most hated, or irritated by list in reality. Haliburton has a way about him, that even as a fan irritates the hell out of me. Can you imagine playing against that for 48 minutes?
For those of you who have played ball, he is exactly the type of guy, that just crawls up under your skin, until you start hunting an appropriate time for a hard foul. If you know, you know. He strikes me as that guy.

Wow, took a crown straight from Goberts head. This voting always made voters look bad, rather than the ones voted by...

I can see it. Fans absolutely LOVE the "true PG" skill set but if that guy isn't a truly viable #1 option scorer on a championship team I think it puts a cap on your team. Those guys just aren't as actually valuable as fans have them.

Other players seem to mostly overrate volume scoring. Hali is not putting up 30ppg, and he doesn't need to. That's not where his value is.

This is exactly it. This voting almost always get dominated by non scoring stars. Most players do not think of efficiency when playing defense, guy can have bad shooting night on you, but he gets tough shots here and there, still makes you work defensively since he is volume scorer, defensive players will think that player is good, not maestro playmaker or defensive big, who puts pressure on opposition by other means, not one on one play.

It's a strange list, because Hali isn't that highly rated. Casual fans barely know him, he's not in advertisements, and he only once made an All NBA squad, in the 3rd team. So, I am not sure how he can be "overrated" unless the claim is that he's not good at all. Which doesn't seem credible.

So where is Devin Booker and Lamelo Ball?

He was on team USA couple times. And players are just as plugged in, media loves Haliburton.

Honestly this just feels like a product Haliburton getting injured, coming back before he was 100%, and players not really paying close attention as he started getting better again over the course of this season.
And of course, this fits with the key thing to remember about players doing voting:
They don't take the analysis seriously and often don't know how to do serious analysis about anything.
Such abilities aren't what got them to the NBA.
