Is it a shot if it’s true?

Realistically, there's no reason to expect the Luka will lead teams to championships unless he does get in better shape, so this is absolutely the message Luka needs to here. Only question is if this is the best way to communicate it.
Not saying it was impossible for Luka to win the title in 2024 with his current habits, but in terms of championship expectation, it's rare for a guy to lead a team to a title when he has glaring weaknesses he refuses to address. Luka needs to put in the work if he wants to be remembered as in the top tier of players for this generation.

Luka would be wise to assume that any statement made anywhere about immature athletes with bad habits in poor physical shape is about him.

If everything true is on the table, I’m sure Luka could also make some very true statements.

Luka is in decent shape but would be better IMO if he were 10-15 lbs lighter.
Playing heavier has its advantages (ask Fat Kevin Love), but better stamina isn't one of them.
Redick has said on his old podcast, I believe, that everyone knew Luka could dial in his fitness habits more.
That's not the same thing as what Nico was saying, however. Nico was blaming Luka for his injuries (Luka's team said, instead, that he was coming back from injuries too quickly) and he said Luka's body would break down because of his fitness.
Luka has never had a major injury, unlike Nico's saviors Kyrie and Anthony. No surgeries yet, and Luka has been playing pro for a decade. By the time Irving and Davis were Luka's current age, each had had at least one surgery.

Takign shots at players in public / through media is unprofessional. Hold your guys accountable behind closed doors. This stuff doesnt belong in public, the only purpose is to make himself look better / less responsible for the disappointing result. I wonder how he'd take it if players commented on his poor rotations and dumb ideas on how to play without a big.
Also, i am pretty sure he will critique everyone but one particular player. I've not yet seen him say a word to LeBron. He knows he's only there because of him. So spare us the drama, Reddick.

If it wasn't directed at him it should be. He's not pre season shape, much less championship shape. The guy has the talent to be one of the ~10 greatest players ever if he took conditioning more seriously.

This is the right messaging. But does it have to be in a public forum? It just sounds like Redick is shifting part of the blame here.

Maybe a public shot is what the fat ass needs to act like a professional?

Redick's coaching scheme and refusal to make any adjustments directly led to a 32 year old Gobert putting up a career playoff high in both points and rebounds in what was a home elimination game for LA. Dude needs to be doing some self reflection instead of yapping to the media.

Think Redick can be a great coach but he needs to control his own big ego.
