He strikes me as good or really good in a lot of areas but not great in anything. Like he doesn’t exactly have Hakeem’s athleticism.

I think he is a 3rd best player on a championship team.

You ideally would want him off the bench, as a third best player who could spam post ups on other bench bigs and just torture them.

On a championship starting five, he is exploitable offensively and defensively, in some scenarios, so you would not want him as your primary option, as he could get played off the floor.

Sengun is significantly better as a defender and rim protector than Sabonis while being much younger, so I can imagine him improving into legit 2nd option on very serious contending team. He probably won't be good enough scorer to be anything more than that though, but still a fantastic career ahead of him.

First team All-NBA, best player on a conference finals team. He’s a stud. Maybe pre-MVP Jokic as a ceiling?

I don't agree that his ideal spot on a championship roster is as a 6th man. The Rockets have kept Golden State far below their season average with Sengun playing high minutes. He can survive on the floor defensively. Offensively, he has value as a simple screener, short roller, and offensive rebounder.

Jokic wasn’t jokic until five years ago, at the age of 25-26. Sengun is 22 years old.

Pau Gasol is my go-to comparison for him and I think his ceiling is similar also.

This past season in fantasy i was excited to draft him expecting him to be baby joker. Instead i got more like prime Nurkic

The shooting touch need to level up for him to be a strong playoff scorer. I don't mean his shooting range, I mean he's got to hit more of his paint touches and get those free throws north of 75%. Last year I thought he was going to get there, but this year he regressed (possibly due to putting in more effort on defense.) Defensively I think he's a littlle better than most people assume.

I like that comparison.

A #2 on a title team with a great #1, of course.

I think someone who can make an All NBA a couple times as 2nd or 3rd team. 2nd option on a title contender.

Was about to post Pau Gasol too.

i do think Sengun is tougher than Princess Pau, like he has that little bit of toughness edge over the Spaniard and potentially, should be a better defensive player.

Beating Golden State does not make you a contender.

We're not in 2022 anymore, Sengun is a good defender. He doesn't fit the typical archetype of a vertical rim protector, but he surely isn't a liability. Pretty much every stat proves this.

His touch and scoring efficiency have taken a big hit this year, if he can figure this out and improve his range and shooting, we're looking at a perennial All-NBA player.

Can he become the best player on a championship team? Probably not, but I wouldn't totally rule it out. He's 22, highly skilled, very smart and more athletic than many believe imo. Realistically, he'll be a 25/10/5 type of player in his prime.

Agreed, his scoring was actually down this year, but his D was excellent. Look at various line-ups with and without him and it stands out. Like with anyone not an absolute freak he can have occasional match-up issues, but overall he’s very good. Great hands, strong, very smart, excellent anticipation, and just understands what offences are trying to do and where to be. As you say not a rim protecting machine, but even that aspect was better this year. And like Green he’s a lot younger than many seem to realize. His DRTg is 108, lower than people like Gobert, and his DWS is 4.2, again better than Gobert (and highest on a very good defending team, and actually a fraction above his OWS this year) and his DBPM is also better.

As to the OP’s question, I want to argue with the Gasol comp because ‘foreign white guy who is a lot better than many realize’ but it’s about as good as we’ll get.
