Are we at risk of a 3rd straight underwhelming NBA finals?

Post#1 » by canada_dry » Tue May 13, 2025 2:18 am

Nuggets vs Heat
Mavs vs Celtics
OKC/Denver/Wolves vs Indy/NYC?

Don't get me wrong i think the conference finals will be awesome in the east if its indy/NYC...but wouldn't whoever wins that series be serious underdogs vs whoever comes out the west other than Minnesota?

I really like the pacers, especially haliburton and siakam...but can the Cavs save us?

Any combination of OKC/Denver/Minny vs. Indy/NYK would be competitive I think.

That sounds like a good finals though?

Imagine watching this year's playoff and your conclusion is that the finale is going to be underwhelming.

Parity is at an all time high, there is a case to be made for any team winning the championship. This has been the most exciting playoffs in a while IMO, it's all over the place.

Finals with OKC in it have a decent chance of being boring. Any non-OKC final should be very competitive.

I think Minnesota vs either would be competitive.

I think either of Denver or okc make it a quick series. Especially okc, who i think are most likely to come out the west.

But sure the finals are going to be underwhelming because we don't see a Celtics / Lakers rematch for the dozenth time? Not everybody cares about big markets.
I agree with a lot of that. Im just worried about another finals dud that's all man. :)

The 1st 3 rounds are gonna be sensational.

Knicks vs Wolves is a dream matchup.

Ratings wise and matchup wise.

New York/Indiana would be a pick-em against Denver/Minnesota. I'd favor OKC for sure over all, but the other four teams any one of them could win. Pacers with a legit puncher's chance to win this thing.

Yeah. I did say short of Minnesota. I don't think they're making it past okc though. Most likely okc at least. Never know.

Really im concerned that okc is making the finals and being heavy favorites in the finals like the nuggets were in 2023 and the Celtics were last year and it results in a quick 5 game series.

I wouldn't mind the end result of okc winning but i dread the matchup...

Warriors vs Pacers/Knicks is the most likely Finals right now especially if Tatum is done

The Celtics were the best team in the NBA and the Knicks just took them out, why don't you believe they would make work of OKC? Who haven't shown to be better?

Knicks have the defenders to slow down anyone. They can win on the road and have the most reliable star in a close game. League is on notice.

Knicks would be awesome in the finals, but Pacers is definitely underwhelming. Nuggets, Wolves or GS would be fine in the west. OKC would be trash for ratings. Knicks vs GS would be the best for ratings but tbh as long as Knicks make it, it should be fine.

If its okc...we can try our best to hype ourselves up just like we did the last 2 years... the heat with playoff jimmy! You never know! Any team that has luka has a chance!

This year its Bing bong! Knicks can win this! Pacers got a punchers chance!

Come on man...
