How does Denver retool in the offseason (Who wants Murray/MPJ?)

Post#1 » by Cubbies2120 » Wed May 14, 2025 4:10 am

New GM
New Coach

New roster? How can they get out of Murray and MPJ’s contracts - is there any team dumb enough to take them?

Playing with MPJ is like playing 4 on 5, and Jamal “BUT LOOK AT HIS BUBBLE STATS 6YEARS AGO” Murray going 9/25 in a do-or-die game 5 is something else…

No one is taking both of these contracts and offering anything worthwhile. They know these are two role players who will be worse off without Jokic, like basically every player that leaves Denver. Plus, Denver has no draft picks to trade. People don't realize how badly Booth screwed this team. They really have no ability to get better. Best bet is to bring in different players and hope new blood rejuvenates the team.

Jokic needs to demand out if he cares about chips.

No stars coming to play in Denver.

Time the franchise does right and makes Jokic happy. Trade Murray and Porter Jr for a couple ponies.

They have Jokic the best player in the world. He has to get the job done.

Best player in the world don't get excuses. Ask LeBron and MJ they never got excuses.

If Jokic needs better teammates he needs to leave like LeBron did.

Until then play ball and get the job done. You're the best player in the world for goodness sake!

Foregone conclusion at this point. The Thunder are the best TEAM in the league, the Nuggets have to play their starters 40+ minutes a night to even stand a chance. Thats a recipe for disaster even if you have the best player in the world.

How about some old blood?

They definitely need to try to shed MPJ though, he's a liability on any contract.

Is Bruce Brown still even in the NBA? He owes half his contract to Jokic.

You have Jokic in your top 3 all time?

MJ had plenty of excuses people forget he didn’t win anything before Pippen, and LeBron had no excuses cause he team hopped to maximize his chances of winning, and succeeded in 4 of 22 years…

Jokic chose to stay in Denver. Live with the results.

Making excuses for the best player in the world is something im never going to do. You want the title deal with the results.

OP did not even mention Jokic. It was a thread on how Denver can get better as a team. You're the one that brought this nonsense into this thread. So I guess Denver fans can't talk about how to improve their team, because Jokic is on it.

MPJ would be a good fit for the Lakers with Lebron and Luka. Reaves + filler for MPJ. Idk if MPJ is as negative asset

Look at the comments in the game thread bro. Jokic teammates are the only one getting blame.

This a team sport Jokic is on that team he's not exempt from criticism. Win as a team and lose as a team.

Tell me I'm wrong and explain why then I will gladly apologize, but you know you can't because it's the truth!

Defensively, that's an awful fit.

Reaves is an awful defensive fit too, but Porter is even worse.

People were criticizing Jokic plenty the past few games where he shot like crap and turned the ball over like crazy.

He was masterful this game. His teammates couldn't hit any shots and let him down.

Keep Murray until the wheels fall off. The two-man game with Jokic is invaluable. Just don't count on him to be your second best player anymore.

I don't know who takes Porter. I think you hold on one more season and use him as expiring. He's like if you paid Kuzma 40m. Everyone knew that was a bad deal the second it was signed.
