Anyone not being open to trading Sengun in a deal for Giannis is just kidding themselves.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

I dunno. They'd be legit contenders for 5-6 years and still have pieces to make other moves.

Titles are really valuable, if you can give your team a legit chance at winning a title over a 5 year window, you take it.

It's like when I see Spurs fans saying they wouldn't trade Castle in a deal for Giannis. That's fine. I'm sure your GM would though.

Obvious statement is obvious

I would be open to a Towns-Giannis trade straight up.

It is, but scrolling 30 seconds through the article you can tell that it's just the usual pointless media trade fantasies. Of course there is the obligatory "The Lakers could build a draft around Reaves, Hachimura and a few smaller salaried players + some 1st rounders they magically aquire from a third team" .

Best part, while the Knicks have of course also not much to offer, the Lakers are according to the article in a better position to land Giannis than them  .

Milwaukee needs to trade Giannis this off season. There could be a bidding war between teams like Houston, San Antonio, and OKC (if they lose in the playoffs), and they could get a king's ransom. They would be foolish to pass up this opportunity, and Giannis isn't getting younger.

They can't rebuild for ages, so they can't just sell him for a king's ransom right now. If they move him they're likely gunna try to stay competitive-ish until their pick debt is paid.

Did you see the Luka trade? This is just facts. The league will step in and make a deal happen for the Lakers if they decide it needs to. Whatever assets the Lakers have are irrelevant

If you really believe this you should stop caring about NBA outcomes or become a lakers fan.

Nobody doubts Giannis's work ethic or partying, and the Bucks aren't under new ownership who is still figuring the NBA out. Milwaukee will be happy to keep reupping him for as much as they can.

I am also open to the idea of selling my home for several hundred thousand dollars over its list value. Let's get this deal done.

As a Rockets fan, I also am open to this idea.

No it wouldn't. Giannis is a top-3 player in the world right now and makes them an immediate contender for the forseeable future (depending on what they have to give up of course).

If it's just Sengun + Jalen Green + Reed Shepperd + 3 or 4 FRP's (or something alone those lines), then it's definitely worth it for HOU.

The Rockets have no realistic way of improving their team enough to be legitimate Championship contenders over the next 5 years outside of this trade imo. Adding 37 year-old KD won't be enough and their 10th Overall Pick in the upcoming Draft isn't going to fetch them an immediate franchise player.

They're also really not close as currently constructed due to a lack of a true #1 option. Their roster is full of win-now role players, but they desperately need a true #1 option. Giannis immediately gives them that. These opportunities to trade for a top-3 player in the world in his prime don't present themselves very often. Who knows if Giannis even wants this, but IF he does, then you have absolutely to pull the trigger.

They might even be able to afford to re-sign Steven Adams in this scenario.

Giannis + FVV + Amen Thompson + Jabari Smith Jr + Dillon Brooks + Steven Adams + Tari Eason gives them a formidable core entering next year's Playoffs. That team is far more dangerous than the offensively inept one they have now.

C'mon. There are levels to this. Giannis is a top-three win-now player in the NBA, right? Unless I'm forgetting someone.
