Is Siakam a top 20 player?

At the start of next season: which players are you taking before Siakam in a fantasy draft? Since his Toronto days i always thought he is extremely versatile, underrated and undervalued by many fans. This playoff run has certainly confirmed my feelings.
So i am curious:
A) Is Siakam a top 20 player in the league?
B) Has he been a top 20 player the last 5 seasons?

The question is if he is a top 20 fantasy player, its definitely a yes. He fills up the stat sheet well at above average efficiency.

OP messed up his own thread by mentioning fantasy. Pretty sure he just meant top 20 as a player but now everyone is confused.

1.5 years ago, I was told that Jonathan Kuminga and Keegan Murray were better players, and now hes a top 20 player.

I think most people would place him in a (maybe 10-15 players worth) bucket of players who have an argument to creep into the top 20.
If that's true, it depends on the night. On average, I would estimate him falling just outside the top 20, but I'm maybe a little higher on him than the average.
Just a guess though.

No... People are going way too overboard with him owning the Knicks. It's not like he was playing against a juggernaut opponent

I'd compare him to Jimmy Butler in terms of perception. Similarly to prime Jimmy he elevated his game in the playoffs, but he hasn't shown enough regular season consistency to warrant calling him a top 20 guy.

It's almost like everyone has only a 2 month memory with some of the opinions. Siakam has had an exceptional playoff run but if you include his play over the last year or 2, he's nowhere near a top 20 player. Would you guys really sign him to a supermax contract right now??

Paolo is 26/7/5 on 55TS%
Franz is 24/6/5 on 56TS%
Garland is 21/3/7 on 60TS%
Mobley is 19/9/3 on 63TS%
Lets not forget Siakam as a #1 option was a 24/8/6 on 57TS% guy himself
It really is not that crazy. Outside of Mobley, he is also the best defender of the bunch.

I don't have a top 20, I have a top 10 and even then it's like a Top 7 with some honorable mentions.
Top "20" for me is a rotating door of who's playing good in the league. Nothing is static. For instance Jimmy Butler would've been in my top 20. After the playoffs, nope. And that's a pretty decent argument.

As others have said, there are a lot of players who are guaranteed in the top 20, then you’ve got a bunch of guys on the fringe for it, where you can make arguments for any of them. Siakam is probably in the fringe group, however adding in the “what have you done for me lately” factor, it’s easy to pick a guy who won Eastern Conference MVP over guys who couldn’t make the playoffs or went out in round 1.
