That ESPN 30 over 30 doc 'Broke' should be made mandatory viewing for any player coming into the league. It's still incredible people can encounter money issues after making over 100 million.

Rent? Odom must have fallen on pretty tough times beforehand if he was renting at this point.

He made $116 million for putting a ball in a hoop and still ended up broke. Poetic, honestly. NBA players making that kind of money is ridiculous when the average person makes like $55K a year. A teacher would have to work 2,100 years to earn what he did and for what? Entertainment? If blowing it all is the only justice we get, so be it.
Tired of the rich getting richer, while the rest of us keep getting poorer than our parents were. Thanks to inflation, corporate housing, stock buy backs, destruction of unions, etc etc. I see 50 year old cashiers making like $10 bucks an hour regularly. I swear, most of them are now older adults. It's not right man.
Maybe Odom doesn't deserve this as a person, but as a society we need to put the brakes on this and push back.
Note: The original post had some unfair hyperbole. I apologize and would definitely not condone being an ahole to someone in real life just because they got lucky. But I still stand by the fact that it's grotesque. I don't mind bball players being 'rich'. Like they were in the 80s and 90s too. Today is different level and it's gross. Not just bball but entertainers in general. Did Odom take someone elses money? No. But these super rich should be taxed HEAVILY so that we can help others struggling. In my community that's a lot of people and it's getting worse.

This is why I’m always for aggressive heckling. Go up to them in public, ask for photos even if they’re eating or with family, rain down on every mistake they make in media. If they’re gonna live with insane privilege, the public has a duty to make them pay the price. The bigger the better.
People like you is why the world sucks.

Odom is a former crack addict and likely still is dealing with drug problems.

Tired of the rich getting richer, while the rest of us keep getting poorer than our parents were. Thanks to inflation, corporate housing, stock buy backs, destruction of unions, etc etc. And the same people being crushed are idolizing guys that make more in a year than their entire family tree has in it's history.

He's struggled with addiction and depression etc. I kinda thought that was known but maybe it's just that I had to watch way too much of that Kardashian show when I was with my ex lol.

I see guys on the street struggle with addiction and depression, and despite them being homeless they still somehow manage to afford drugs. There's no way being a depressed addict explains where 116 million went.
