Who's going to be the new Knicks head coach? Take a guess.

My guess is Hurley. He grew up in Jersey City and a Knicks fan. He would be a big time splash hire for NY. He has the brash personality to not get scared by the big lights of NY media.

Malone is a no brainer. Championship only 2 seasons ago. Someone Knicks fans could vibe with. I’d be shocked if it weren’t him

MIchael Malone, Taylor Jenkins, Budenholzer and Monty Williams would all be choices I'd be generally ok with. Actually pretty crazy how many quality coaches currently are available. You have 3 coaches that made it at least to the finals within the last 5 years. Monty would also be fun from the perspective that he was a rookie for the Knicks when I really got into Basketball and was still collecting cards.

Mike Malone has a ring because of Jokic, lol. Mike Malone would be no different than Thibs.

In any case, it's not going to be him.

No one on that list is any sort of upgrade over Thibs. They can't hire a retread. It has to be someone new or a truly great coach, and there isn't one out there, unless JVG wants the gig. Thibs has been basically been a clone of his, but I'd be willing to bet Van Gundy would look a lot different now than he did in his last HC gig. In the end it's likely going to be Bryant.

Mike Malone is my gut feeling....but it won't matter. The roster, per usual, is the core issue that those cowards in the FO (namely Dolan & Leon) don't wanna address. All this does is feed the delusion that Thibs was the issue.

I'm interested in what Vogel could do with the team, but im not sure if he wants to return to coaching given he is getting paid to do nothing for the next 3 years.

Really hope we don't fall for the Malone / Budenholzer / Jenkins / Monty trap.

The guy who had insider info on the firing on Twitter (bigknickenergy) is now signaling the hire is a big coup. I'm guessing Wright or Hurley has confirmed.

Kind of puts the kibosh on the Bryant rumor.

Malone is Thibs lite.

Does not play his bench many minutes and a very bland offense.

If the Knicks go that route, they shoulda just stayed with Thibs and I'm someone who was all for the Knicks firing Thibs.

Malone is even worse than Thibs. He is basically Thibs West. Dude is a Jokic merchant and even the assistant coach who replaced him did a better job. Hard pass.
