The Pacers are the most clutch team in NBA playoff history

Post#1 » by picc » Fri Jun 6, 2025 3:34 am

Their whole team collectively turns into prime MJ when they're down big in crunch time. I couldn't believe it vs Milwaukee and thought it could never happen again and its happened multiple times.

All shooting sliders turn up to 100. Everyone will hit everything. Haliburton will hit the game winner. That will happen and there's nothing you can do about it. I won't say they're the clutchest team ever but I don't remember seeing anything like what they've done this postseason. Not with this consistency combined with the impossibility of the odds.

Aaron Nesmith shoots 0% if they are winning and 100% if they are coming back. Centers will start bank shotting three pointers against the buzzer. Its demoralizing even when I'm rooting for them. If there was ever an argument for voodoo or witchcraft being used on the NBA it's the 2025 Indiana Pacers.

There should be a sports doc made on this team and the BS they've pulled off. BS that you would bet your house on being un-replicable and soon be eating cat food in a tent on skid row.

Has any other team ever had 4 comebacks like this in a single playoff run?

there are magnets inside the ball and this is all a plan devised by the swamp which happens to be based in Indianapolis - pulling the strings of the entire universe
Kids played football, drove cars, went to school, celebrated life; while soldiers, heroes, their brothers struggled to find their way home from war; and young boys watched and grew wiser in their dreams.

If the Pacers win it's the ultimate fairy tale run of all time, just insane round after round. So much fun to root for them, they're never out of games.

They've won 3 games while trailing by 7 in the final minute. I would bet some franchises have never done that in their playoff history. Much less twice. Much less twice in one playoffs. Much less 3 times in one playoffs.

And none of those are tonight which was a 9 point comeback in the final 3 minutes with a buzzer beater.

There is essentially no chance any team will ever have a playoffs like this again.

When I was a kid, I would think if I got a genie lamp I would (after wishing for infinite wishes) wish for my team to hit every shot. Well I'm not entirely convinced some pacers fan didn't find a lamp recently.

They had 3 comebacks trailing by 7 in the final minute? I'm going to say they did not.

One each against Bucks, Cavs, and Knicks. Its been exhilarating to say the least.

It’s only ever happened 4 times ever and pacers did it 3 times this playoffs.

I don't know how many, but the other Carlisle team (2011 Mavs) also had some big comebacks during that title run, including game 2 of the finals.

Shai has "it" but Hali is Magneto out there. He's just too powerful for batman to overcome.

Shai didn't have enough prep time

They definitely are, even if they lose the Finals. It's ridiculous stuff. They've already done enough to go down as a memorable team.

Very winning team needs a bit of luck too… not only for Pacers…. They are special though, they are relentless on offense, just like OKC on defense… I don’t feel surprised that if a bench guy is the leading scorer for a certain game, and they have at least 3 of those guys… the way they are playing is exhausting for opponents since they never stop running…

Different universes, but if Batman had prep time he could make weapons out of plastic and maybe invent a device which works against Magneto’s powers.
