Everything can happen in a one and one if both players have skill. I find it more weird that he brings that even up. I'd get it if it's a guy that never played pro, or had maybe a short stint as a bench warmer in the league, but the guy is a former 2nd overall pick that played in over 600 games.

Lots of guys say Beasley is a great 1v1 player. We know Beasley has skills, but 5v5 is not about just being able to beat or score on that primary defender, so you can beat guys 1v1 and have nothing close to their impact in 5v5.

This is especially true as a big SF with skills, which is like a very good 1v1 archetype.

When he played I was always anxious for him to sit down somewhere. He may be great 1v1 but his team basketball feel was horrendous.

I can believe the story. 1v1 isn't indicative of how good a player is at 5v5 and vice versa.

1v1 is not the same as the NBA game. Guys that are god tier 1v1 are just solid NBA players. Great example, Jamal Crawford. DeMar DeRozan would also cook 1v1 if he played in a tournament.

No. Michael Beasley wasn’t some awesome defender. To be good at one on one, you need to be somewhat skilled on both ends. IMO, Kawhi Leonard is the best one on one player with his offensive and defensive skills. He doesn’t waste any energy on offense, and though he’s not quite the same defender, he’s still a force.

In a pure 1-on-1 setting he will have a strong chance.

Considering his size and skill it wouldn't be shocking for him to torch any NBA player 1 v 1. Especially if you're playing make it take it.
