as a long time Starcraft and e-sports guy, this has been a happy little secret for ages. KR is where competitive e-sports really began in the late 90s and a lot of the success of their broadcasts, and subsequent popularity of competitive e-sports over there came from the boundless energy and enthusiasm that the announcer teams have always brought. by this i mean, if their energy can convince you that two Starcraft nerds sitting in a room clicking buttons on a computer is the most hype thing ever, i can only imagine what they could do for NBA action. lol.

this is proof what I've been saying. announcers are white noise. they add to the visceral environment of the game. to me, that is their function. that is why I liked breen/jvg/jackson

I guess if you NEEEED a brown or a doris or a svj to inform you then that is your happy place

18,000 fans don't seem to need it, although listening on a radio or watching on a phone even while attending a game has been going on as far back as I can remember
