The impression I get is they think he is a franchise cornerstone or someone on the level of Anthony Edwards or Donovan Mitchell. I don't think he is quite that good. Certainly not the best player on a championship team.

When you say "Suns" are you talking about the front office or fans? If it's the former, I'd agree with you; if it's the latter, that'd be a no. Most fans are realistic about Booker and know he's a bit overrated. He's a nice player without question, but he's not the guy who is going to be THE MAN and get you that ring.

For what it's worth, Edwards hasn't been as far as Booker. Neither has Mitchell. But that's more of a team thing than an individual one.

Hasn't he been a postseason riser? He did lead the franchise to one of two Finals trips and is probably on pace to be one of the three of four best players in franchise history.

Suns have been to the Finals three times.

I think if replace Donovan Mitchell with Booker the Cavs are basically the same personally.

Booker is limited in the context of expecting star players to excel in every area, but I think if you surround him with the right role players, he can be the #1 option on a contending team. He's a good shooter and scorer, he can get to the line, and he can get his own shot. Defensively he is solid.

It isn't often franchises get guys who really wants to be there even through the tough times, so I think it is smart to show total commitment to Booker.

I think Booker in any given playoff run can rise to top 5 player in the playoffs level. The problem is the Suns are overrating his prime runway rather than his ceiling. Imo they can't rebuild fast enough to position him for serious title contention, but we'll see.

There's a reason the Suns had zero success pre and post Cp3 in the Booker era.

Yes. He’s a fringe top 15 player at best and is a good number 2 on a championship team but not a number 1

Booker is a perennial All Star talent and top 15 player in the league, imo. No, he can't lead your team to a championship because he isn't an on-the-ball player. He's the ideal off-ball scorer who would play next to a dynamic on-ball wing or forward. Put him next to a Jokic or Giannis or Lebron and he can help you win a championship.

you are sounding like there is a difference between Booker and Mitchell. For me, both are the same level players. Antman is better talent, although he still has to realize his full potential to show the world.

Booker is really good, probably top 12 for me. He can score and shoot his ass off and is an underrated passer/playmaker and defender. The worst thing the Suns did was pair him with Durant because Durant demands so much respect as a scorer and Booker as the younger star defers to him. Adding Beal was even worse.

They should have stayed the course with him, Bridges and Cam Johnson, and kept all their 1sts.

He can’t lead the Suns to a championship? He did help lead the Suns to a Finals where they lost a tough fought series with the Bucks………… like, Mitchell and Edwards who are being compared to him in this thread to him have never lead their team to a Finals, so you can’t really say they’re clearly a franchise cornerstone and Booker isn’t, can you?

Yeah, health and weak supporting casts, mostly.

Booker's very good.

He isn't a tier-1 guy, no doubt, but he is still a very good player.
