Every team needs a TJ.

Even if he's not scoring he's lighting a fire under your ass and pumping the fans up.

Imagine him and Jose Alvarado on the same team.

Hype meter at nuclear levels. Even the lame Laker crowd would be a HC advantage with those two.

I understand that this isn't the most thought-provoking OP but, man, TJ McConnell really earned himself the right to have his own GB thread after tonight's performance.

He had 5 steals in 15 minutes. 5. 3 of them were on the inbound pass.

Clear example of how hustle/playing hard is a skill/talent. There's a lot of dudes out there on the court playing hard, but there's levels to it, like everything. The willingness to compete NONSTOP, the cardio to maintain that effort, and the tenacity to push through the constant uncomfortable-ness that effort level puts you in, it's very impressive.

Wow.

Its like Rick knows little angry dudes who play like Tommy Davidson's character in Ace Ventura 2 are key to championship drives.

Its infuriating when a guy does to your team what TJ did tonight. Like they don't allow you to just play basketball.

Pretty awesome court awareness too. You don't get all those steals by luck.

He's the ideal perfect backup pg. I would imagine he was also a solid reliable college player too. Thats what missing a lot in the NBA. The solid pg or backup pg. Nowadays too many pgs are looking to shoot and not necessarily run the offense or serve as a floor general for the team and set guys up.

Yeah. When he just straight up intercepted Caruso's inbound and scored to tie up the game, that was a back-breaker for OKC.

I agree. McConnell is going 120% out there on every possession. This is also why he isn't as effective as a starter. You can go 120% when you play 15-20 minutes but you absolutely cannot keep this up for 30+ minutes.

10/10 career arc for TJ. I remember an interview how happy he was when Philly paid him. I don’t think he really expected that. His goal was always just to play one more season in the nba when he got drafted.
