Rick Carlisle is a cheat code. It's almost not fair

The way Indy has controlled their turnover economy after that apocalypse in the first half of game 1, and adjusted their defense on OKC and SGA.
18 TO in the FIRST HALF of game 1
6 TO in the 2nd half
15 TO in game 2
13 TO in game 3
OKC Turnovers
8 TO in game 1
13 TO in game 2
17 TO in game 3
Rick whips their asses into shape every time there's 5 seconds to do it. Whatever you did in the last game that worked? Pour some liquor out for it, cause it's gone.
I'm not discovering fire here, obviously Rick is an all-time great coach and everybody knows that. Just like seeing greatness and the way Rick doesn't GAF how many wins your team had or what its SRS was is dope.

OKC got the better overall talent.
Indy has the much better coach (Carlisle).
That much is obvious.

Did the same with the 2011 Mavs. Always had the right answers. End-of-bench players came in in tough situations and helped to change the outcome of a game, the finals series changes when he inserted JJ Barea into the starting lineup.
Top 10 coach of all time to me.

Easy to coach when you don't have any ego maniacs on your team.

Who is an ego maniac on the Bucks? Nuggets? Rockets? Lot of teams without ego maniacs that don't outperform their talent level like these pacers do

Definitely the difference so far. Outcoaching Daigneault badly. Daigneault needs to wake up, he's been too much of a spectator.

Rick out coached Spo in 2011, took the mighty Spurs to 7 in 2014 with geriatric team, took the Clippers to 7 with Brunson crapping the bed, KP on one leg and Boban playing 30MPG late in the series.

On a serious note, fat chance Knicks would appraoch him, Brunson didn't like him at all, Rick also never believed in him.

The thing is that these 3 couldn't work together.
Brunson would have not been the player you see now with Carlisle.

im actually not sure this is true at all.
brunson was still developing and we dont know what carlisle could have cooked with that team after what brunson showed in the playoffs aswell. It seems like if anybody could have made it work its him, no?

I always felt Ricardo got a bad shake in Detroit. Carlisle built the culture and structure of that squad and was booted before they gelled and reached their full potential - with Brown being the beneficiary.
Dude tends to get the most out of his teams wherever he goes.

Even if we say this is facts, that means they should have 2 of the 3 still

Carlisle IS one of the few legit good coaches but let's not give him more credit than he deserves. The Pacers have arguably the deepest team in the league and a well-constructed rotation of complimentary pieces. They're a very good team. Yes the Thunder have more talent but it's not an overwhelming advantage and wouldn't be them choking if they lost. Credit should go to the Pacers
