Sounds like KD will be traded by next week and if not by next week, then for sure before the draft the week after.

So based on the reports, sources and word on the streets, where is KD going?

Early this week it sounded like my Spurs were a done deal (per Bill Simmons erroneous reporting), but now it seems like Timberwolves, Miami and even Houston are giving better offers.

Houston is my guess.

Sounds like SA was initially in the driver's seat but other teams are starting to drive up the asking price and Spurs don't want to pay it. I'm guessing he'll end up in Houston or Minnesota

If Miami gets Durant, they'll really push to get C Paul and/or R Westbrook, who just opted out.

Depending on what Miami gave to get Durant, Miami could potentially put together a ~$30-$40M package to try to solidify its bench.

Bruce Brown, G Trent Jr, and Tim Hardaway Jr could be potential FA targets.

Would the Thunder be a sensible transfer If OKC lose in the finals?

Miami is only there because it will be so easy to be in the playoff next year in the east from KD point of view I guess

Two factors:
1. How much of Phoenix's flexibility is Houston willing to offer them (Draft picks).
2. What does Kevin Durant's team want?

Minnesota is extremely active in trying to trade for him, but Houston holds the most amount of value leverage.

That's certainly a consideration, especially given Tatum will miss a lot of next year.

But Miami's an option here because 1) they'll actually give Durant a massive extension 2) other teams seem to be holding back their best young players and assets, which makes Miami's young players and assets more attractive by default 3) With Durant making so much money, most teams need to give 2 high-salaried guys to match contracts, and Miami has 2 players that expire after next season (Rozier/Robinson) and can offer both or one of them with a good player in Wiggins, who is on a very reasonable contract.

so basically, you have:

Wiggins v D Brooks v Randle/Gobert

Jaquez/Jovic v Sheppard/Whitmore v DDV/Dillingham

From there, it's about draft assets, but at this point most teams are reluctant to give more. Riley generally doesn't care much for the Draft, so he'll gladly throw #20 in and possibly a pick swap.

I think it'll come down to the TWolves or us (Spurs). Could be Houston.

Wild card. He stays put at Phoenix. Or back to OKC?

If it's out east. Mmmaybe New York? But the Knicks FO and coaching situation is a mess.

I think he ends up in Houston. The Rockets control Phoenix’s picks and have a desperate need for someone with Durant’s shooting and offensive abilities. Their front office also knows they have to build a team capable of beating the Thunder, and they certainly don’t want another Western Conference contender like Minnesota or a fellow up-and-coming team like San Antonio to get him.
