Pretty easily in my opinion. The NBA only achievements with 4 DPOY awards alone will probably put him in the HOF. The international résumé on top makes it pretty easy.

This shouldn't be a question, he is an absolute lock.

Probably but he really shouldn’t be a 4x DPOTY and hasn’t much success in the playoffs. If you have the most rebounds and blocks, the sportswriters are dumb enough to vote you that every year than to have any real sort of criteria

What’s the argument against him being in the HOF?

2017: Gobert 466 points in total, 89 first votes . 2nd place Embiid with 163 points and 2 first votes.
2018: Gobert 411 points in total, 65 first votes. 2nd place Giannis with 280 and 26 first votes.
2020: Gobert 464 points in total, 84 first votes. 2nd place Simmons with 287 points and 15 first votes.
2023: Gobert 433 points in total, 72 first votes, 2nd place Wemby with 245 points and 19 first votes.
So which one of those 4 wasn't deserved? He totally dominated every voting. I highly doubt that voters were biased towards him, since he won every time over players that are/were generally regarded higher. It also goes completely against your rebound and block statement, since the 2nd place also went to players that put up big defensive stats and had besides Simmons either similar or even better stats than him.
Related to Playoff success. He is 32 now and had about the same or more Playoff success than players like David Robinson, Karl Malone, Chris Webber, Dominique Wilkins, Steve Nash, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul and Reggie Miller at the same age. Pretty sure that all of those players were still already considered future Hall of Famers at that point.

"I hate him even though I don't know him"
"He can't shoot three-pointers"
"He spread covid around the world"
"Perkins and Shaq told me to hate him"

Yes, he's well accomplished. Resume heavy domestically and internationally.
Multiple awards.
Olympic medals (France).
Good deep playoff runs with both Utah and Minnesota.

He will get in, no doubt, by the time his name comes up for voting, people will forget about his playoff struggles and look at only his accolades.

Which year do you question? Just curious
I believe he has deserved all 4 DPOTY's that he won. The voting sides with it as well. There has only been one year that has been close.

There is nothing memorable about any team he's been on (in the NBA), he doesn't have a memorable performance in any meaningful game, and the success of the teams he's been on are completely mundane: ok in the regular season and meaningless in the playoffs. He's a very forgettable, mediocre player who has only made the all-star game 3 times and hasn't been on or led any really good, strong teams.
That said, the bar has been placed so low for HOF entry that there is no way he won't get in.

Not a 1st ballot at all, but he will eventually get in.
One of the most impactful defenders in NBA history

We have some suspect voters, like Spanish media guy giving DPOY vote to Sabonis, would like to hear his reasoning, but American Media that I follow, that has votes, I would say put huge amount of thought into these, definitely far more than coaches used to do.
Hating on them is just that, Gobert lead league in block or rebounds maybe once, so it is definitely not their main voting point...

The argument is simply that ''he aint that good'', which is trust me bro argument. I don't get why people hate Gobert so much, when Ben Wallace was beloved, and Ben was even more inept offensively, no one doubted his impact. Maybe it is just the title?
