This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

I love Jdub but Chet is a defensive savant who changes the way teams have to play Okc. Since defense is okc’s hallmark, have to go with him.

I’ve long been a Chet fan but I’ve really been underwhelmed with him in this series, he has not overcome the physicality well and I’m starting to wonder if he’ll ever be able to exclusively play the 5 at a high level or he’ll always need a bruiser next to him. Voted for J Dub, but in all honesty their 2nd best player in the finals and maybe the entire postseason has been Caruso

Came to ask where the Caruso radial button was on this poll.

There is no clear cut answer, it's what makes OKC so good. Having a collection of 2nd options next to your #1 is important.

Williams is better, but Chet has more untapped potential left.

It’s clearly JDub. They should trade Chet before people realize what he actually is…

Re: Second best player on OKC
I voted J.Dub. He's simply more central to what they do right now, and more valuable as the only other guy who can create a shot (while being the most versatile defensive player in the NBA). His scoring has been inconsistent in the playoffs, but his playmaking hasn't been. He's strong with the ball in his hands. His biggest problem has been his catch & shoot threes.
Long term, Chet's ability to shoot, protect the rim, and handle the ball at 7'1" puts him on a different potential trajectory than J.Dub.
Right now though, Chet's c&s 3s have been just as bad as J.Dub's. They both struggle at times to play off Shai sometimes.

Re: Second best player on OKC
Dub has grown a lot as a scorer in these playoffs. Last playoffs, he disappeared offensively because he has such good shot selection that when the playoff defense tightened up, he couldn't get the looks he was able to get in the regular season.
This year, specifically against Denver and Indiana, he has learned that you have to force it a little bit. I think Richard Jefferson said in the playoffs, sometimes an OK look is the best look youre going to get. Dub has forced the issue offensively in a good way in non-Shai minutes, and even with Shai out there.
On top of that, he is an elite defender and good passer.
Chets ability to shoot the long ball, protect the rim and also guard guards in space is ultra valuable too.
I give the nod to Dub but its close to 2a and 2b

The guy who made all-NBA and who barely misses a game and who allows me to get away with playing small ball due to his versatility defensively.

Chet needs to spend his offseason dirty bulking. Man needs some weight on those bones.

Re: Second best player on OKC
Jalen Williams without a doubt
-Both all NBA level defenders.. hard to compare bigs/wings but imo Jalen is more impactful
-**6"6" wing with a solid handle, 3 level scorer, good efficiency
-Chet has been injury prone at times

This.
Williams is better right now, but Chet's upside looks frightening.

Re: Second best player on OKC
I might be wrong since so many are saying JDub but to me Chet is our second best player right now. His defensive impact is way too big and even if JDub best games in the POs are better than Chet best games, he had some pretty pretty bad performances too so overall I think Chet has been more consistent what he does. Would need JDub to be more efficient with his midrange and outside shot and be a better playmaker for me to put him over Chet.

Been there, done that, i do not recommend dirty bulking.littlerock2277 wrote:Chet needs to spend his offseason dirty bulking. Man needs some weight on those bones.
Maybe he can just risk the PED suspension and go that route, it's only 25 games for the first offense lol

I'm not as big on chet as others
he lives off his teammates.
and btw, the dude gets bounced around by guards,,, but he's a smart player, except when he tries to dribble drive - he's hilarious
