The Celtics and Lakers once shot like 90 free throws in a finals game in the 80s. There's no way this is the record.

Also, these teams aren't 3 point chuckers like GSW and Boston over the years.

Please pull up some tape of a finals that has been more physical than this one.

it shouldn't escape anyone's attention that the rigged Finals all have this in common. It's how the NBA dictates results. 2016, 2020 and this year. It's a damn shame too because the first three games in this Finals were incredible and it was headed towards being one of the better ones in history. Sadly, they intervened in Game 4 and the wind has been justifiably taken out of the Pacer's sails.

the reason why there were way more fouls in previous generations was because the game was based around post play so you had bigs (centers and forward) banging down low and elite centers requiring teams to carry extra bigs to absorb fouls in hopes to contain them. So it's not apples to apples for you apologists trying to point to them.

Considering the average FTA in the 80's was like 30 a game and in the 90's was like 27 a game, your data stopping at 2016 and then concluding EVER is pretty bad lol

If you go back to the 60's, and 36 FTA/G, so let's face some perspective here

Yeah 56 FTs combined is a lot. Definitely more than most Finals. That said, here are a few higher totals from past Finals (I didn't go through all the years, just browsed a dozen) -

1995 - 65 FTs (Rockets/Magic)
1997 - 60 FTs (Bulls/Utah)
2000 - 60 FTs (Lakers/Pacers)
2006 - 60 FTs (Heat/Mavs)\

I haven't been able to put my finger on exactly why I find this year's Finals a little boring, despite some really good games, I think this might be a big reason.
