Greatest rebound in playoff history.

To this day I have no idea why Popovich took Duncan out on that possession.

You can say Bron got them TO the clutch but boy did he almost wet the bed when the game really mattered. Made the 3 to cut it to 2 but pretty much missed every other shot and had several costly turnovers.

So yea if not for Bosh AND Allen, Lebron would've got eviscerated by fans and the media.

Bcs Miami needed a 3 or quick 2 and its easier to defend those plays with smaller players. Height wasnt the problem there, but the positioning, look where spurs players are at the time of the shot. Also, Duncan wouldnt be at the rim but at position Diaw is at the moment of the Lebron shot.
It was just a series of unfortunate event at the end for the Spurs.
Ginobili missed free throw, offensive rebound after first James 3 when Spurs were up 5, 20 seconds untill the end after which James made a 3. Kawhi missed free throw, then the 2nd offensive rebound and Ray Allen shot and then at the end James shoved Parker but ofc no1 is calling that.
Not to mention in overtime, Miami was up one, Ginobili was in transition and Ray Allen fouled him as clear as it can get and refs swallowed that whistle 2 seconds untill the end of the game. And even after that, that Bosh "block" in last second, would be called as a foul 9 times out of 10 today.

lebron's legacy was saved 4x

1...sas couldn't deal with westbrook and kd, and as a result miami face the second youngest team since walton's blazers
2...allen's shot
3...dray getting suspended for a game
4...covid, thus facing yet ANOTHER young team in miami

NBA history has a lot of big shots so I can't say for sure it was the biggest shot in NBA history but it was definitely the biggest shot in LeBron's history because if Allen had missed then not only would Miami have lost (and therefore LeBron would only have 3 rings now) but LeBron would have missed the potential game-tying 3PA that Miami ran their last play for. Back then his detractors still used to call him a choker and they would have had a field day with that.

Allen of course would have missed too and a big part of his legacy would be erased but that would be just a footnote given the scramble-drill and true buzzer-beater nature of his 3PA.

Lost, is that Popovich had his best rebounder and defensive player, on the bench. No excuse for that.

Dirk's one ring is worth more than all of those combined. "Goat" 'king" my arse. Ray Allen .... now that was someone who was not afraid of the big shot.

LeBron literally took the shot before Ray Allen did...

Agreed, it's huge for those who consider Lebron the GOAT.
But a lot of people don't subscribe to that.

It's this moment in NBA history that cements the fact that superstars alone cannot win. You NEED ancillary pieces that aren't just some minimum contract fodder players with major flaws. Having a guy the calibur of Ray in that role has to be one of the most invaluable pieces to a team I've ever seen.

I remember watching and thinking "omg, he's doing it again". At one point he had Tony Parker on an island and refused to attack. An enormous swing for his legacy.

2013 was the better overall series, but Game 7 in 2016 was probably the biggest game in NBA history considering what was at stake for both sides.
