Masai joined the Raptors in 2013. During his tenure, the Raptors made 10 first-round picks and 8 second-round picks.
These are his first-round picks:
2014: #20 - Bruno Caboclo (bad)
2015: #20 - Delon Wright (average)
2016: #9 - Jakob Poeltl (good)
2016: #27 - Pascal Siakam (good)
2017: #23 - OG Anunoby (good)
2020: #29 - Malachi Flynn (bad)
2021: #4 - Scottie Barnes (good but better players were available)
2023: #13 - Gradey Dick (bad)
2024: #19 - JaKobe Walter (average)
2025: #9 - Collin Murray-Boyles (bad as per team's requirements)
Nobody good or average was drafted in second-round.

Calling Gradey Dick bad let alone the pick where we haven't even seen CMB play a single minute is wild to me.

2021-good but better players available
Who are these playerS better then Barnes? There is only one other guy who is an all star drafted after him. Who are these players?
What an odd thing to say.

He is an elite drafter.

Average-to-good; those 2016-2017 drafts were exceptional and what built a good chunk of the championship core. But outside of that pretty average to below average
Frankly there just isn't a lot of GM's with a track record long enough to make a comparison. Have the same thoughts on Danny Ainge - 20+ year drafting record at this stage with some big hits and a lot of flops. I'm sure somewhere out there there is an analysis of draft success relative to draft position.

Franz Wagner Alperen Şengün, maybe Trey Murphy

Seems pretty average to me given my own take or read on each of the aforementioned players, but you're asking a highly subjective question based on your own personal subjectivity against said picks. How you rate them might not be how someone else does.

out of 10 FRPs, only 4 were good. And no one good out of 8 SRPs. Masai's drafting record is not good; its average to bad. Some Raptors fans would have us beleive that Masai is the best in the business when in reality he is not.

terrible analysis. here are two better ones. as you'll see raps have been elite. this covers the last decade:

Overall, he was pretty good at drafting which makes his decision to trade all those firsts in treadmill now moves even worse. He was meh at roster construction.

Just curious but is that weighted to where a particular team is picking in the draft?

This is the same guy that said Raptors should trade Siakam for Wiseman and Wiggins. I don't know why he loved talking about the Raps, but he generally proves he has no idea what he's talking about.
This list also ignores that raptors essentialy selected Norman Powell in a draft day trade, identified and signed Fred as an undrafted pick up. And it's way too soon to be making judgements on Dick, Walker and CMB

Based on that list I'd say it's good and above average. Relative to draft position Caboclo at 20 is the biggest miss with Siakam at 27 as a home-run and a lot of good and average selections in between.

Guy drafted two all-stars and 4 starters. You didn't include Van Vleet nor Norm Powell either. He had an unbelievable run for like a 6 year stretch.

You're just going to ignore 2nd round picks and undrafted players like FVV and Norm Powell?
What a lazy post

Wouldn't be surprised if OP was a Rogers employee with how obsessed he is with trashing Masai

Hindsight is always 20/20. With a straight face, you would draft Alperen Şengün (projected mid lottery pick) with the #4 pick? Okay, which mid lottery pick this year would outperform V. J. Edgecombe 4 years from now? If the Sixer drafted that player instead, they would have gotten flamed by everyone.
He had 3 lottery picks, Barnes went as well as it could, Poetl a solid role player in a weak draft, and this year is TBD. However:
Siakam
OG
Norman Powell
FVV
We know he has a type. Strong, lanky defender with offensive potential. Combined with Barnes, I’d say he did well as in the draft
