why is Bronny James significantly out earning his peers taken around the same draft position?

Bronny James signed a 4 year $8 million contract, as the son of billionaire LeBron James.

by comparison, 24 year old Quinten Post selected 3 spots above Bronny signed a 2 year $2.3 million contract. Last year Post earned about $500k while getting 16.3 MPG for Golden State and also playing 12 mpg in the playoffs in 12 total games last season, and his 2nd year was a club option.

Any of the names selected around Bronny James barely got 2 years, some even signed 1 year, some were lucky to earn $2 million on their deals.

It's not like Bronny needs the money either.

In other news water is wet and sky is blue.
I don’t want to sound condescending but we all know who his daddy is and why was he even drafted by the Lakers in the first place.

Same reason Thanasis Antetokounmpo was in the NBA from 2020-2024.

Nepotism is real and it even exists in the NBA. I'm not sure if we'll ever see another father son duo though. The current stars with kids most likely won't be relevant in their late 30s to pull this off.

KD could have done it too, but he doesn't have kids. Curry has a daughter and still the age gap is too big.

A lot of things have to come together for this to work out. In the words of LBJ: we are all witnesses.

Bronny hiring has actually earned Lakers far more money already than they spend on him.

There were reports in January that he had already made the Lakers $50m in revenue from Jersey sales. That doesn't include the ticket price elevation for his first few games and also the tickets for G league games being vastly more sold.

If anything the Lakers should have paid him more

And same reason Steve Kerr just got his son a job on the Warriors.

Well deserved.
Bronny has 7.8m followers are Instagram alone. You can check the rest of the platforms if you like. The Lakers are getting their money worth off Bronny merch and since they're renting the right to his name.

Thanasis at least had athleticism and height. He also played well in FIBA.

Cool, but you and I both know he was there because of Nepotism.
