How much would Jokic cost without a max?

Let's say the max salary rules on player contracts were eliminated. To make this hypothetical more simple by preventing cap space and bird rights from artificially constraining a free agent's market value, let's also say there was a hard cap and all contracts were 1-year.
What percentage of the cap would Jokic (or whoever you think is the best player) go for?

About the same. Or you would need to surround him with mediocre players, so what's the point?

It's hard to say because we've never had market pricing for superstar players. He would definitely get more than he gets now. Probably something like $80M. He is easily the biggest floor raiser in the game. We've seen Jokic win 48 games with only one legit starter as a teammate (Aaron Gordon).
Put Jokic in the East, give him two $20M-a-year starters and a bunch of shrewdly selected minimum salary free agents and you could win 50.
