Not to nitpick, but if he's truly exploring chan/zen buddhism, then "self" "improvement" is quite literally the opposite of what he's going for

Lol I know what you mean. But I didnt mean this 10 day mental tourism retreat only in itself. But in general, past years he talks enough to hint at mainly being interested in not only athletic improvement but also an intellectual and human one in different ways in his interests.
