Considering their lack of ANY playable bigs, this is definitely a solid grab. I strongly believe Luka played a huge factor in Ayton going there as lob threats thrive next to him. Defensively he's leagues below AD but still better then what they had so I can't hate it no matter how low I think of Ayton as a professional basketball player.

But I really hope he understands the pressure that comes with being in L.A and the media that follows them. Expectations are always sky high and they will eviscerate underperformers in a heartbeat. This might close the door on him getting a big contract ever again or open that baby right up, we'll have to see.

The Lakers fans over/under on absolutely despising Ayton is officially set at 23.5 games.

No one could have predicted this.

Now all of Ayton's issues will be shown to the country under the bright lights of the LA market. Terrific.

Ayton has his weaknesses but it’s still a very good pickup.

A motivated Ayton playing for a playoff team is still a starting calibre center which is significantly better than whatever the hell they were running with last year.

I’d consider moving Reaves to the bench and inserting 3&D players at PG & the other wing spot to compliment Luka, LeBron & Ayton. Reaves will still play 32+ minutes but needs to play as much as possible away from Lebron & Luka to maximise impact.

This is a steal even if you think Ayton sucks.

He should have gone to the Pelicans or Brooklyn if he wanted to mail it in. One of the worst places to go if you aren’t going to play hard and doesn’t seem he makes much money off this either.

No surpris there, Laker ls with a nice cheap gift. That contract makes them so flexible And definitely make Ayton worth it
