Agreed. Everything is predicated on James's no trade clause. He's not about to waive that to go to SAC, NO, or WAS. And even though he's still a draw at the gate in addition to being a contributor despite his advanced age, I just can't see a team giving up meaningful pieces to get what's going to be a questionable return for a one year rental.

It would depend on his future plans. If he only guaranteed one more year I think they could get back a good young player and at least 2 1sts for one year of LeBron. If he can play more than that and signed an extension you could probably double that.

There's a part of me that thinks it would be cool to play with Victor for his final season but another party of me that feels physically ill thinking about LeBron in a Spurs jersey

In this scenario, LeBron would go only to the better team than Lakers - and none of the better teams have salary to match his contract and/or additional assets to make a trade. So they would get only some respectable contracts at best.

I don’t see him wanting to go anywhere besides Golden State or Dallas. Golden State could probably send Butler and someone else for salary purposes. But who could Dallas even trade to make it work?

I forbade LeBum from joining my kicks a long time ago. Not happening.

He's got a NTC if I remember correctly, so it depends where he's willing to go. They wouldn't get terrible return, but not getting anyones top 1 or 2 best players anymore.
