LeBron/Beal buyout?

Post#1 » by pushfloater » Fri Jul 4, 2025 4:58 am

i know LeBron is far fetched, but speculate with me. In the event either is bought out which team would fit best fit? Dallas would be a championship favorite if they landed either imo.

Seriously?
LeBron fits everywhere.
Beal makes sense too for every contender.

LeBron to Minny.
Beal to Charlotte(not a contender but a great fit)

Prefacing that there is no shot that he gets waived, but LeBron could slot in absolutely anywhere. Cleveland could start him at Small-Forward, Minnesota could start him at Point-Guard and easily slide him up defensively, New York could start him at Power-Forward, Denver can finaggle things to make it work, Dallas obviously works, and on and on. Realistically, I would see him choosing Cleveland, Dallas, or New York, with the Clippers as a long-shot team. That said, I don't understand why the Lakers would ever entertain it after he just picked up his Player Option.

For Bradley Beal, there are a number of spots that he would work out, but Denver would be a terrific fit and he would be able to start for them.

LeBron would never get bought out. He prints money for the franchise whether he plays well or not.

Since we're throwing around hypotehticals (it is the offseason after all) what if you traded them for each other?

Would either team be better/worse than they are today?

I personally prefer the fit of LBJ and Booker more than LBJ and Luka despite the net difference in talent.

As much as I think LeBron's on-court value is significantly overrated at this point (he should not have been considered for All-NBA) - even a year older he's still massively better than Beal.

I couldn't see Lebron on the Nuggets due to pride but if he joined, that's a guaranteed championship with the current team even without JV.

I think Beal could be more realistic and be a decent bench player if he was ok with the 6th man role. Though Denver should prioritize a backup big if JV is bailing.

LeBron doesn't fit everywhere. In fact I'd argue there are only a select few he'd actually fit in well with.

Lebron opted in and wants bought out? If I am the Lakers I say F that.

Either play or retire you already had your chance to go elsewhere

We need a small forward in Panathinaikos.
I hope our President can reach Rich Paul.

The Cavaliers and Timberwolves would be amazing fits for Lebron if he gets brought out.

Lebron is not going to spend the last year of his career in Minnesota if he gets bought out.

I can see either Golden State or Dallas to play with his peers, outside chance Clippers if he wants to stay in LA. For East teams, the return home to Cleveland or maybe maybe the Knicks.
