So We're Just Gonna Pretend the Lakers Didn't Have a Great Offseason?

We're just gonna sit here and pretend the Lakers didn't improve? They were the 3 seed, had some bad luck in the playoffs (Luka stomach bug), and had an awkward roster after the Luka fit. Now, they've filled their roster out nicely with younger players who can do a little bit of everything. They also brought James back, which helps.

G - Doncic [36] / Vincent [18]
G - Reaves [36] / Goodwin [12] / Knecht / Milton
F - James [34] / LaRavia [20]
F - Hachimura [30]/ Vanderbilt [14] / Kleber
C - Ayton [30] / Hayes [10]

Getting Ayton for virtually nothing ($8M) wasn't the steal of the Offseason? If Denver or Indiana got him you guys would be doing backflips. LaRavia is a young, promising, swiss army knife. Vincent and Vanderbilt are gritty defenders who can give you some playoff minutes. Sure, they lost DFS, but he's replaceable.

I have them winning between 56-60 games.

Top 3 seed coming up if Luka is healthy. Just need to add a Horford and we're Gucci.

Reeves is coming off the bench. Don't need him with Bron and Luka starting.

Imagine getting a bench guy and a dude that had to be bought out of his contract for being lazy and unprofessional and calling it a great offseason

They should be favored to win the title going into the playoffs like last year.

OP being dumb after getting a vastly overpaid old school C with no motor at closer to actual market value and claiming it was the steal of the offseason.

It's like my grandma when she'd come home with a bunch of useless crap from department store end caps claiming she saved a bunch of money because it was 'on sale'.

If the Lakers had a great offseason, so did Detroit.

I wouldn't call this a great off season at all. I don't think Ayton solves their problems. Sure, they do have a legitimate center, which they needed, but there's a reason Portland bought him out in the first place.

If the Lakers manage to get Horford, that'll change things. But until then, I need to see more.

That's still not a championship roster.

Imagine thinking that bringing in a below average bench player that struggled to get major minutes on a below average Kings team, and Center who has serious motor and attitude concerns is a great off season. They got even worse on defense with letting DFS walk, didn't sign a single good defender who's playable on offense, and will still struggle with rebounding. They did just enough where they likely make the play -in tournament if Luka has a MVP level season and Lebron doesn't get brought out/waived or sent home.

Hayes and Goodwin being rotation players is a no from me dawg.

If they get Melton and Horford now they're cooking.

The top 3 teams to have a great offseason are Rockets, Nuggets and Hawks.

Not sure how much Vincent has left in the tank.

Ayton definitely addresses a need and if he's focused him and Luka can be a nice tandem.

Depth is still a bit of an issue and Lebron will be 1 year older.

I think it's safe to say the Lakers will likely be a 50-55 win team and 3-5 seed, but will they be able to do serious damage in the playoffs, I'm not sure.
