Lauri is going to be the next victim for Ainge's obsession to "WIN" a trade when he doesn't get offered exactly what he wants. Lauri's value already went down after his peak season when they could have gotten a ton of value for him.

I have no clue whats he trying to accomplish here.

GMs probably wised up and refused to play his game. And now with the new CBA, they have to be shrewd as ever.

You should be pretty happy with the Collins trade though.

The expected future pick values from DMitch and Gobert trades also tanked due to CLE and Ant-Man being way better than expected and their stars signed long term. Lauri and Kessler should have been traded asap while still on their cheap/rookie deals if the whole point was to tank hard for prospects like Cooper Flagg.

Ainge just like Fraud Rivers basically coasting off a once in a lifetime winning moment/move for the majority of their coach/GMing careers.

I was shocked they didnt sell high on Lauri. OKC would have thrown a bunch of picks before they made the Hartenstein signing.

Tanking for a top 5 pick while not taking on any extra term. 2025 draft is strong.

Bad trades become great ones if you hit the lottery for top pick.

Their isn't Billy King for Ainge to rip off from anymore. Those are over.

Even Nico is better than that. And we all know now that the only reason he did Luka trade was being gifted Coopee Flagg.

He's turned into Zach Kleiman 2.0 tbh.

Yeah it's truly unbelievable he held on to Lauri so long while trying to tank. And now Lauri had a really down year and his value is completely tanked. Way to go Ainge, you're looking like one of the worst GMs around these days.

A guy who holds on to assets too long. What his legacy always should have been, Billy King and McHale built it for him like you said.

RGM hated everything he did in his last several years with Boston. Jokes about warchests and people not understanding why he wouldn't trade Tatum and/or Brown for Jimmy Butler or whomever was available at the time.

Then RGM loved him when he made the Gobert trade. And now he sucks again.

Point being I don't really know when he was considered an elite GM according to us, aside from the week he traded Rudy.

He set the foundation for two championships in Boston and I think that was pretty cool, personally.

It's so easy to say how good someone is when everything is going good. Or there on a major market where they can easily put teams together. But let's see what happens when they join a bottom feeder or a lower end market team. That to me really shows a coach, player, front office guys true colors/skill.

There are some many instances of guys who are Herold as players, coaches, front office personal and they go to another team to turn the franchise around and fail. Then they go back to a marque big market franchise and produces again and we all go see told you so. It's just not the same.
