Is this not the same injury amare had? He had to be lying face down for many days if I’m not mistaken

Rest will manage, though, and I expect him to be rocking the goggles when the season starts, heh.

my father in law had this and yeah had to lie face down for days. Unfortunately despite 4 or 5 attempts they never could get his to stay attached. Hoping for better results for AD.

This happened during the season, and is just now getting it fixed?! That's a long time to be living with something that annoying

Sounds serious but with AD it's hard to tell. Hope the best for him the game is much better when the best players play

What's hard to tell? With AD an ingrown toenail is serious.

This happened to a family member and it was treated as an emergency, like you are getting surgery tomorrow. The doctors said you wanted to get it reattached as soon as possible, or you could suffer permanent effects to your vision.
I wonder how AD could have delayed his surgery for this.

He should wear a goggle when he comes back. Praying for a speedy recovery.

Pretty much. I'll never be critical of players who are genuinely hurt, but AD tends to overstate injuries and doesn't want to play through them.
You could show me ten different clips of him getting hurt, and without knowing beforehand, it would be impossible to tell which ones were serious and which ones were just him leaving to go to the locker room and then returning to the court. It is what it is.
I also find it hard to believe he played with a detached retina and is just now having surgery.

Wouldn't he be blind right now if this was the case? Not a doctor(lol) but a detached retina is a serious injury that needs to be fixed quickly.

The details seem to not be full. Maybe some sort of partially detached retina which they didn't diagnose right away or something

AD is almost always injured, so he's playing through injury all the time. A lot of times he gets injured, it looks like he's done, then he just misses the second half of that game and comes back

I had a partial detachment in the past that was fixed with rest and removing a steroids that I was on at the time - it was a real psychedelic vision when I had mine. Would be pretty hard to play basketball that way, I think

Correction. Even when he isn’t injured, and will play the next game… he never returns once he goes to the locker room.

There is a zero chance I would continue playing during the season of my retina was detached. We’re talking about messing with ability to see. I guess props to him for pushing through the pain.
