I love this for Washington. They keep stacking up on young players, really solid core they have.

Olynyk can still contribute as a stretch big, pretty underrated get for the Spurs.

Overpay for the Spurs but I also get it. Wesley and Braham weren’t going to get minutes on this team plus they don’t want to pay them

Good bench depth for us. Don't mind seeing Branham go but kinda sad to let go of Wesley. Oh well

Guard depth is suddenly a need for the Spurs. If only they'd drafted one at 38 instead of dumping it the day before.

9th different team for Olynyk now, poor guy has bounced around like Dangelo Russel.

Ehhh...kinda weird trade. Branham was a 1st round pick just a few years ago, but his numbers have just gotten worse and playing time diminished. Seems like he just never has figured out how to make the jump to the NBA. Poetically, same goes for Wesley who was the other Spurs selection in 2022 first round! Pretty unlucky drafting there especially cause #9 that year was also Sochan haha.

In return get a vet role player who will add some energy minutes. It also all but confirms Spurs are investing into a minutes heavy guard rotation so this years draft picks can get some playing time. It's Spurs admitting sunk cost with those other guys.

For Washington, it gives em a role of the dice and minor draft capital for a vet that doesn't matter for them anyway. Good trade for both teams IMO

Vassell and Champagnie are technically SGs that are forced to play our of position so really we have 5 guards, where we really lack depth is at the F spots. But I agree with you. Shouldn't have sold that pick for cash

Geez, a lot of these young guys who wanted to go to Washington to get an opportunity are going to find themselves with no opportunity. Intriguing for Washington though, they gotta hope that all of these guys competing for minutes raises their game. They feel very low on bigs though

Great pickup for SA. Olynyk throughout his career has been one of the more underrated players in the league. Big men who are capable defenders, three point shooters and passers do not grow on trees and Olynyk is solid in all of three areas. Plus he can play some minutes at the 4. Also brings toughness and veteran leadership. Spurs have an awesome center rotation.

Huge mistake giving up on Wesley. They will regret it

Wizards are certainly active... towards what... not entirely sure, but active!

Spurs just dumped two guys who were never going to play. I expect both guys to be cut by Washington. They're going to have to fight their arses off to stay in the league. Wesley has some value, but his offensive game has not developed at all (makes you wonder what he works on in the summer). Branham is probably a lost cause. He's a scorer, who doesn't even do that well.
