In terms of overall impact

I don't a lot about Grant

When i watch video's of Peak Grant Hill, his cross-over and dribbling is more entertaining than anyone today, he was a taller version of Anthony Edwards !!
But Hill's assist numbers were high, and he wasn't a shooter (until he got older), so i guess Edwards isn't the best comparison skill-wise... but visually they are similar enough, the most entertaining slashers.

I'm going to get slammed for this comparison, but i really thought Ben Simmons was going to be the next Grant Hill.

Grant Hill was considered insanely large for a point guard at 6'8"
Grant Hill in his second year put up 20/10/7 with his only flaw being his terrible 3pt shooting (19%) but he was great at getting to the rim and an elite defensive player and passer

Ben Simmons was considered insanely large for a point guard at 6'10"
Ben in his second year put up 17/9/8 with his only flaw being his terrible shooting but he was great at getting to the rim and an elite defensive player and passer

Feel free to trash me for comparing Ben Simmons to any great player.

I mean, Simmons was talented but never ended up improving his shot and then broke down mentally. So I don’t think anyone will slam you for that.

Grant Hill is one of my favorite players but I will not slam you for the Ben Simmons comparison bec I see a lot of similarities with size, speed and most of their skillsets except SHOOTING !
Ben has almost have a non existent jumpshoot, with career 31% from 10-16 feet, 25% from 16-3pt area.

Grant Hill was the Tim Duncan of small forwards. The Midsize Fundamental.

He should have never played injured in the playoff series. He got reinjured and was never the same. It is why I am concerned for Halliburton when they injury happened.

Though i've never found LeBron's ball-handling or slashing to be entertaining, whereas Grand Hill is one of the most entertaining of all-time.

1st stint LeBron.

Outside of that, Cade has some similarities in that they are both tall perimeter players who are a nightly triple double threat, but Cade is not the elite athlete that Grant was, and Grant was not the shooter that Cade is.

Ben Simmons' abilities with Giannis' dunk-on-you approach is a bit similar. Some differences I'm too lazy to type.

I actually really like this comparison.
He also wasn't unlike Scottie in versatility, but an absolute beast on the offensive end before his injury, better passer and scorer.

He was on the up and up as the Bulls were coming to a close.
It was always exciting watching the duel of him vs. Jordan. He's an underrated defender.

Watch on YouTube

21 ppg was a lot at that time and he was very efficient with his game, scoring and passing.
And then in 1999 when they made the tight hand checking rules, shot clock (24 sec to 14), five second back to the basket rule,
his scoring shot up to 25+ ppg.
During this 99-01 time, you'll see tons of perimeter players who had big boosts in their scoring as a result- even players who had been in the
league for a while.

It makes me wonder why Hill would have done (and Penny) if they didn't have injury.

the first guy i thought of is kawhi. because the majority of both of their careers they have just been a shell of what they were/could have been.

stylistically not that similar. but OP said "in terms of impact" so maybe its not so far off? idk.

Jimmy Butler was the first player who came to mind for his two way impact and playmaking. Hill made it look more graceful though and peaked a little higher.

That's a great comparison for style and impact. Cunningham is getting there.
